London to Durham is roughly 416,000 metres.
2068 furlongs is a more intuitive way to look at it.
By rail, Durham station is 254 miles 53 chains north of Kings Cross.
List all the stations between as quick as you can.
    Mainline?

    Stevenage
    Peterborough
    Grantham
    Newark
    Retford
    Doncaster
    York
    Northallerton
    Darlington
    Durham
I can do all the rest up to Aberdeen if you like as well. They are seared into my memory by far too many 7 hour train journeys.

I drive these days. Takes a bit longer but less stressful.
    I came across this once:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Humberside_Airport#Routes

and noticed the Humberside to Aberdeen route is the second most used.

I couldn't help wondering if you were a big user
I used to. But to be honest it is bloody expensive and when you factor in all the waiting times at each airport you are not much worse off taking the train or driving. At least with those two options I am not limited on weight and I always carry far too many books :)

    Cummings has survived.

But I am far from convinced this is the right outcome for the government. A narrative has been created that there is one rule for those in power, and one for the rest of us.

Labour is no longer run by a complete idiot, and I suspect this message will be repeated and repeated and repeated. Every scandal and misdemeanor will be seen through this lens.

there always has been one law for those in power and one for everyone else or didn't you realise that.

The only difference on this is those in power have changed
Really? Seems like a bunch of Tories in charge as usual, representing the ruling class and oligarchies. They've simply ditched most of those with a shed of scruples or principles.

Governments are like the banks of rivers. It can look like nothing has changed but erosion, once it has happened, cannot easily be undone. The path of the river, slowly but surely, begins to change.

Countries and institutions are the same. Which is why the UK is totally screwed. It's been happening for decades. This latest crock is merely symptomatic.
