No posters anywhere that I can see, and only one leaflet (grass roots out); and the Britain First demo in the city centre, ostensibly for Leave, though getting a very hostile reception so most likely benefitting Remain.

Remain have the totally naïve view that immigrants magically appear at 9.00am, contribute to the UK economy and then equally magically vanish at 5.00pm.
Presumably they must think that there are shanty towns around the major UK cities that house them - well there are!

You can't blame Leave for focusing on immigration, it's their big message. But you can blame the Tory Leavers for their hypocrisy. But you can blame the Tory Leavers for their hypocrisy. They have consistently supported cuts in public services that ordinary people rely on, while also supporting a fiscal and economic strategy predicated on high levels of immigration.
Unless there is wage growth there is no need to invest in better equipment and methods. So in reality the economists haven't actually got a clue.0 -

Why did you support a government whose entire economic and fiscal policy is based on high levels of immigration?
As for economic policy based on high immigration, to a point they inherited high immigration, and I'm not sure the treasury economic policy is based on anything.

Leavers so concerned about public services should explain how they will be paid for when the tax money generated by EU immigrants starts to decline.

As for the OBR, they can only tell you what their models predict.
Have they been any good at predicting how the deficit would be reduced or the economy would grow in he last 5 years?0 -
I blame the government. The one Priti is a part of. She is a hypocrite.VapidBilge said:
What are you talking about?SouthamObserver said:
Nope, it was a choice: to hit Osborne's deficit reduction plan; the one dependent on high levels of immigration. I'm afraid Priti is a hypocrite. She cares so much about the public services ordinary people rely on that she voted to cut them.VapidBilge said:
Perhaps because your lot messed up the public finances.SouthamObserver said:
Makes you wonder why Priti voted in favour of significant cuts in public spending, doesn't it?Plato_Says said:
Osborne is Chancellor of the Exchequer, Cameron is the PM who made the immigration pledge.
Both are for Remain. Stop trying to deflect blame onto someone only tangentially involved in the two policies that agitate you.
Desperate stuff from you.

Leavers so concerned about public services should explain how they will be paid for when the tax money generated by EU immigrants starts to decline.
You have to take into account the services they consume as well: NHS, schools and housing, perhaps.
You have to take into account future pensions and healthcare costs to get the correct situation.
This is just kicking the tin can down the road.0 -

I wonder if the egregious nature of the campaign is really starting to get on people's nerves now, and many may turn away in disgust.AnneJGP said:
I'm not so sure. Seems to me that if people aren't interested enough even to chat about it casually, it's a bit of a stretch to deduce they're intending to turn out & vote but just don't know which way.foxinsoxuk said:

That's interesting. I wonder if there's a London/non-London difference (if you're outside London)? Maybe the people I meet with every day are far from being typical - if any of them have an opinion, it isn't one they choose to talk about. Really, I don't think I've ever heard anyone mention it.
What are others finding in their non-political social circle?
No posters anywhere that I can see, and only one leaflet (grass roots out); and the Britain First demo in the city centre, ostensibly for Leave, though getting a very hostile reception so most likely benefitting Remain.
People will vote though, just not sure how.0 -

His argument is: immigrants are young, therefore they use the NHS less and also other services.
Unfortunately, those youngsters are also the people who have children. Try going into a maternity ward in London or a Catholic school in London to find confirmation of that.0 -

Non-EU immigrants have to pass tests to get a visa; EU immigrants don't.
New non-EU immigration is much more productive.0
