Could we end up with a tie-break and a super over - happening at the same time?
YES!
Yes, we are! Quite astonishing.
For the non-cricket experts, what is the difference between the two?
Why did New zealand not win given they were 241 - 8 and England 241- all out, sounds like dodgy stuff
Because both teams made 241 off their 50 overs and those are the rules - no bonuses for wickets in hand.
cheers, surprised they do not do it like football on Goal difference, should be on wickets.
In football, you kind of have to do it on that basis as you'd otherwise need to organise a whole new match. Goal difference is kind of a necessary evil - there is no great fairness in determining it based on who beat the whipping boys of the league 4-0 rather than 6-0 a few months ago, but it does the job.
In cricket, the teams are right there, so why not do a super over?
I think the rules are probably going to have to be changed. A four scored in that manner shouldn't really be allowed to stand, even though it was completely unintentional.
I cannot begin to imagine what New Zealand are going through. They deserve to win, unquestionably, but were beaten in circumstances that would have been beyond Hunter S Thompson on acid, never mind your average scriptwriter.

This super-over malarkey sounds complicated
You supporting England?
I doubt he’ll get another chance , really sad .
Bowling an over cold is not an easy task.

England 26
New Zealand 16
So NZ can't catch up on boundaries, (except if England ball no-balls).
New Zealand 6.2

I think NZ are value with those numbers.
But I just about favour New Zealand.
Wimbledon
Grand Prix
Winning the placepot at Stratford
And how unlucky are NZ?
