Back to the 70s, remember the good old days which McClusky wants - brought in 18 years of Tory government.

    Unite ought to recall that.

It did eventually, but it took over a decade of intimidation, violence and class hatred, as well as being the 'sick man of Europe', before the country finally decided it really had no choice but to grasp the nettle. Even then it was tough.

Mr Cameron has given a long interview to BBC Wales tonight and the coalition will be announcing the devolution of some taxes to Wales tomorrow. He also announced that next years NATO summit will be at the Celtic Manor.

BBC added some words from Ed M.

"Labour leader Ed Miliband told BBC Radio Bristol he was "against any intimidatory tactics in any situation and I think that's the most important thing".

He added: "Let me be clear about this. I don't know the truth of these allegations but I condemn intimidatory tactics from either unions or management in any dispute.

"I think what David Cameron should be doing though is making sure is that in this dispute we've now got people back to work, and that is really important because we need to protect that national asset of Grangemouth and need to protect those jobs and we do that by both sides working together."

No mention of Unite members being involved, tries to use moral equivalence as a defence - equivocation or bullshit delivered by the ton.

Unite leverage - looks like intimidation - McCluskey on managers in leafy suburbia - Ed M no comment - BBC looks like class war. Oooppps. Non story.

I think legitimate protest ends when it leaves public areas - and starts bagging on your front door.

‘Leverage’ my arse, this is intimidation - pure and simple.
The union would be well advised to take a look at the provisions of section 241 of the Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992. The alleged conduct is of questionable legality.

    South Carolina General Election

    •Marco Rubio (R) 47%

    •Chris Christie (R) 43%
    •Hillary Clinton (D) 38%

    •Hillary Clinton (D) 42%
    •Ted Cruz (R) 41%

That looks a pretty good score for Christie, Hyufd.

If he can win amongst Republicans in S Carolina, he must have a decent chance of the nomination.

If he spent a twentieth the money paying PR men and pollsters paying policy wonks he might find he didn't need them

Just for the sheer joy of seeing PB Tories disappear in a flash,it would be nice to be allowed to post on the biggest topic of the day,but I guess we`ll have to wait 6 months.

    Quite:

"The outrage from the Labour party on the Daily Mail’s piece on Ralph Miliband was voluble and justified. Silence on Unite’s antics now will abrogate any moral authority the party had in criticising the Mail. Morality isn’t a one-way street. Principles don’t apply selectively. Either everyone connected with an adversary is fair game, or they’re not."

It isn't actually PB Tories disappearing though, is it?

    Do try to keep up.

And look at that jump in Inflation / Prices.

When was the last time an Opposition made the running so comprehensively in the way Miliband has with this Cost of Living thing?

If all that wonky predistribution talk was too complicated for you, or you wanted to know how it might translate to real world, here it is.

Almost makes me wonder if Labour haven't showed their hand too early. Though as others here have said, I'm sure Miliband has other targets he can have a crack at further down the line.

Labour has indeed shown its hand too early. No less an authority than Dan Hodges proclaimed just yesterday that his brilliant performance as Leader of the Opposition is a disaster for Ed Miliband as it implies he'll be a poor Prime Minister.
    http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/danhodges/100243640/ed-miliband-is-a-political-jack-charlton-great-at-stopping-others-playing-but-can-he-play-himself/
    Hahaha! That's majestic!

I can't wait for Hodges article about Ed Miliband on the day Ed Miliband enters No 10.
The major problem with Hodges now is that he has no contacts in the Labour Party who are anywhère near the leadership, which undermines somewhat his analysis of Labour politics.

His overlong latest piece can be boiled down to a single sentence:
Ed Miliband being a good leader of the opposition spells certain disaster for Ed Miliband.

The union would be well advised to take a look at the provisions of section 241 of the Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992. The alleged conduct is of questionable legality.
    That would be this then:
(1)A person commits an offence who, with a view to compelling another person to abstain from doing or to do any act which that person has a legal right to do or abstain from doing, wrongfully and without legal authority—

(a)uses violence to or intimidates that person or his [F1spouse or civil partner]F1 or children, or injures his property,

(b)persistently follows that person about from place to place,

(c)hides any tools, clothes or other property owned or used by that person, or deprives him of or hinders him in the use thereof,

(d)watches or besets the house or other place where that person resides, works, carries on business or happens to be, or the approach to any such house or place, or

(e)follows that person with two or more other persons in a disorderly manner in or through any street or road.

(2)A person guilty of an offence under this section is liable on summary conviction to imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or a fine not exceeding level 5 on the standard scale, or both.
    http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1992/52/section/241

    Looks pretty straight forward...
