    This is rather entertaining

"Thousands of refugees could soon arrive on the doorsteps of author J.K. Rowling’s many mansions – if she accepts the offers of several Twitter users looking to cough up the money for plane tickets, that is.

How did this magnificent outpouring of humanitarianism come about, you ask?

Well, not long prior, J.K. Rowling had been involved in a Twitter spat with Piers Morgan.

The very anti-Trump Rowling, who has been pushing the UK to take in more Syrian refugees, tweeted the following amid the battle, apparently in reference to Piers Morgan’s stance on President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown...

"in my view, too many in the party are trapped in a simple “Stop the War” mentality whereas building peace around the globe is a complex task."

Stop the War is not about stopping war. They'd love it if Israel got nuked or if someone assassinated Trump for example. Stop the War is really Stop the West. What they really hate is our free market capitalist system, because what socialists crave above all else is to control you and the 'free' bit of free markets precludes that. I believe StW was founded by a certain J Corbyn esq. A man not 100% hostile to liaison with terrorists.

Just when you think you better get used to not having a left of centre party ever again you read this from Patrick and realize that isn't an option.

However bonkers Corbyn and his cronies are they hardly scratch the surface of the bonkersness of the right-wing fruitcakes
What was wrong with what Patrick said? Stop The War explicitly aren't opposed to all wars just western involvement. That's not to say that opposing war is a bad thing but Stop The War don't simply do that.
It's the sneering arrogance of right-wingery. The certainty that there are two opinions 'mine and the wrong one'.
That's a right wing characteristic? Bollocks. It's a partisan style common to left and right, and places in between.

If Angela Rayner, Becky Bailey and Jess Phillips are classed as Labour's 'rising stars', then they are in even worse trouble than I originally thought.

Jess Phillips is a star. The interview linked to in the header is a classic. I don't see her as leader (yet) but she should be front and centre putting the boot into the reactionaries. Her twitterfeed is one of the best, and no one can accuse her of being an elitist metropolitan. She is a great example of the diversity of the politics of the WWC, much more so than the increasingly ludicrous Nuttall.

    PMSFL.
She's a gobshite - nothing much more. Her notoriety is based on telling Abbot to eff off. Entertaining, but no leader.
