As I understand it, Keith Vaz has already issued legal letters to a fellow MP.
I saw that, quite incredible.
Worst written legal letter I have ever seen. Quite remarkable.
A well known website about betting on politics once received a legal letter threatening to report them to the gambling commission and have their gambling licence revoked.
LOL. I trust that Ladbrokes and others put in objections.

Came as surprise to the website that they had a gambling licence

It reads like the sort of letter a client would send, not his lawyer.
The big problem these days is that clients who would have found writing any kind of letter difficult have access to e-mail and a complete absence of self control. Makes the job a lot more challenging.
But this one was on official notepaper. Seemed very strange.

And pointless. The MP can make his remarks in Parliament and Mr Vaz would have no legal recourse, which he should know.
Quite often with electronic letters the date is updated when you print a copy off. I wondered if it might have been somewhat older than today. Sending it after yesterday's and today's press coverage would make it even more bizarre.
I'm not a mod, but a reminder that Vaz is verboten, his lawyers are watching...
Is this correct? If so, I missed this announcement.
Yeah, I posted on the earlier thread.
Legal letters are flying about. All posts now have to come with a link from a reputable UK news organisation.
Can one of our resident lawyers advise - in principle, and with no connection to any current case, if person A (or lawyers acting on their behalf), accuses person B of lying when person B says something potentially defamatory about person A, and if person B is subsequently proved not to have lied, why doesn't that open up the possibility of a counter-sue against both person A and their lawyers? Surely to label someone as a liar is of itself defamatory unless the claim can be sustained?
This has probably already been covered but I've only just noticed it, but this plan to revert to an elected shadow cabinet? Does that make a split even less likely, as no matter how much they oppose Corbyn people can claim to be serving the party and not his leadership of it.

Stories about either candidate's health can only bring to the forefront of voters minds that they'd be fine, and probably happier, if their veeps did actually have to take over. The one closer to death's door wins!

Non-believers can be elected to the SC - but that doesn't mean that Corbyn has to place them in real jobs or give them anything substantial to do.
Corbyn's counter-plan to make the SC elections open to the full Labour selectorate rather than just MPs may well garner the necessary support (if, indeed, either plan goes before conference)

The Independent: Harlow: Did the great hopes for a post-war new town end with the death of a Polish immigrant in a shopping arcade? http://google.com/newsstand/s/CBIwndraxi0
Can I ask..what exactly is Keith Vaz alleged to have done wrong?
You really don't want to know.
But this is why he should be forced out as an MP.
When asked by one of the men whether he wanted to use a condom this time, Mr Vaz – who last year fronted a safe sex campaign in his constituency – said “No”.
Against a danger to the US and the West like Trump? Time to stop joking now.
it's like Chirac vs. Le Penn again, vote for the corrupt not the racist.
Except that Trump will win.
On the off chance that isn't by fair means it will be by a plausibly deniable foul one. You can count on it. A country like the US cannot afford the destruction of its position in the world like that.
If you really do think he is favourite to win then you are heyond help, or probably you are just trolling.
