I remember to this day travelling down I-95 as a 15 year old staying with a friend of my fathers and his family. We'd gone camping to Cape Cod but the weather was so bad we drove down I-95 to Virginia and spent a week around Jamestown and Williamsburg.
I still remember being awestruck by the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel. It was (and presumably still is) an amazing feat of engineering.
Just beautiful to drive over at almost any time of the day or time of the year - 17 miles over the water. But scary enough in high winds they progressively shut it down to traffic, starting with the tall lorries.

PS When I first moved to Cape Charles, VA I met one of the engineers for the bridge. Mr Thibodeau, from N'orlins, where he also helped build the bridge over Lake Pontchartrain. Wonderful guy, alas no longer with us. When he arrived in town to take up his assignment, he stepped out of his car to be greeted by a local who shook his hand and said "Mr Thibodeau, welcome" It was a good guess - he was the only non-local in a town that didn't get many visitors.
In his predictions a couple of days ago, Roger favoured The Revenant to win the award for Best Visual Effects, on offer at 16/1, adding tellingly "but Ex Machina is an interesting longshot", which was on offer from Bet365 at 80/1 .... that's EIGHTY TO ONE folks and in sorting out some sort of value the value from the obvious and ridiculously short-priced favourites, yours truly suggested backing both of these at such crazy prices. Guess what ....... the 80/1 shot duly came in. Congratulations to Roger, what a corker of a bet!

ANOTHER ONE! Mark Rylance was Roger's favourite for Best Supporting Actor - which he thought might end up going to Stallone, Home Team & all that - but Rylance has won - deservedly so!

Yes, I was on this one too, at decimal odds of 4.14 with Betfair. Well done Roger!

Betfair has pretty much decided on the revenant though..
We'll see.
Most of the babyboomers I know don't look like this. These people look in their 80s and 90s:
