If anyone in PB wants to know what goes on inside a presidential election campaign in the US, look now, I present to you the leak of the full 112 pages Q3 internal campaign report of Jeb Bush which includes among others dirt on other candidates and internal polling :

Forget about the West Wing, this is the real thing.

Dear oh dear. A sign his campaign is actually falling apart?

Swing-tastic!- though the usual lesson when party political councillors think they have a significant personal vote seems to apply here...

    Britain Elects ‏@britainelects

    LDEM - 69.9% (+35.0)
    CON - 17.7% (-30.3)
    IND - 12.3% (+12.3)

The Independent candidate was the incumbent Conservative who triggered the by-election over disagreements with his local Conservative group.

And for the cricket fans on here, what the Aussie invitational XI (or, more precisely, the first II of them) are currently doing to the touring New Zealanders is pretty special:

    501/0

How many innings does each team get in a 3 day match. Surely they must be close to declaring !

Yeah, they declared when NZ got Carters. They could theoretically have batted for the whole match - it would have been a draw but great trolling.

On the train home from the drinkies! Was nice to meet several people for the first time, Kieran, Antifrank, Barnesian, Philliph and the irrepressible David Brackenbury!

    Good value!

    Oh and Nick Palmer

I felt a bit bad barging into a convo he was having extolling the virtues of St jezza by saying I thought he was a billion to one to be PM
Billion to one? Could I place 1p with you at those odds :-)

    Stranger things have happened!
    Not my trading price!

I just can't see it though
To be honest, I cannot see it happening either.

A lot depends on how events unfold but Jezza would have to be very very lucky, and for the Tories to be very very stupid. So quite possible after all.
As I said to the boys tonight, my friends never talk politics, but one of them piped up in the pub the other night 'what the fuck is the new labour bloke all about?'

Normalish people will never vote for him, I'm w Dan Hodges
Long day in Montreal followed by a very pleasant dinner with a Quebec separatist and a Catalan opponent of independence (his view, FWIW, is that Catalonia just wants to negotiate a better economic settlement and doesn't really want independence).

Even they were asking me who's that "beardie leftie" who's running the socialist party in the UK...
