We need to send all these bloody obnoxious foreign imports back. There's no place in our culture for Black Friday, Halloween, School Prom Nights, or the ludicrously named American "football" desecrating hallowed English turf!
Football, in all its forms, is called football because its played on foot, rather than on horseback. It's thus perfectly sensibly named - just as much as rugby football, for example.
My dear boy the true etymology of the word 'football' comes from the ancient French-Norman, 'fatbill', which loosely translates as 'kick the peasant', a popular pastime of the semi detached castle owners of the time. Eventually the peasant would inevitably become decapitated, or 'plebed' in the French-Norman, and the rest as they say is history.
“Football was an essentially popular game,” writes Murray, “and the name originally referred to any ball game played on foot rather than on horseback.”

The Mirror story shows how uncompetitive the UK has become globally and how we have paid ourselves too much for years.
Does that include you too, Financier?
Or are you worth it?
a It all depends on your productivity. I am completing new contracts in Malaysia, Angola, Mexico and Kurdistan - what have you done this week? In general many unemployed Poles are potentially more productive than similar UK people and this is not about skill sets but aspiration to make a better life for themselves and their families. Also a willingness to go where the jobs are and not wait for the job to come to them.
In an interview with BBC Newsnight, Lord Tebbit said: "Well one test I would use is to ask them on which side their fathers or grandfathers or whatever fought in the Second World War. And so you'll find that the Poles and the Czechs and the Slovaks were all on the right side. And so that's a pretty good test isn’t it? Perhaps we'll even manage to teach them to play cricket over the years."
Seems a bit of an odd test. It would hardly be my fault if my grandfathers fought on the wrong side.
It's an absurd test but since Germany Italy and Austria are not the nations 'sending' their migrants and that Russia and the former constituents of the USSR were also on our side then I assume Tebbit is happy to receive immigrants from the former Soviet states and Warsaw Pact countries. In terms of economics of course it hardly matters if the immigrant comes from Poland or Germany or Romania, but again we must assume Tebbit thus accepts the economics of it.
Its also good to see Tebbit expects and values the notion of absorbing immigrants into our culture
Although amusingly it does mean that he's now presumably backing unlimited Pakistani and Bangladeshi immigration?
Lets not forget India, who these days supply our largest numbers of Non EU immigrants. There is the vaguest of points - which is integration not multiculturalism.

Getting on their bike - another Tebbitism he must admire. The great tragedy for Britain is the numbers of unemployable we see on benefits. How do they become educated and motivated? And their children? The issue is sad tragic and quite frightening really. We will do well to confine it to just a single lost generation. Our unemplyment levels are not far off what would be reaslistic as a long term norm. So where are the new workers to come from to fill the new jobs?

The countries that he mentioned were not merely allied with us. Their men fought in British uniforms alongside Commonwealth countries.
My grandfather worked with a lot of Polish miners after the war. He was very happy with them as friends. Their descendants are indistinguishable from other Brits apart from unspellable names.
If only other migrant communities that arrived a decade or two later were so well integrated!
Maybe it just takes time. Don't hear many complaints about, for example, West Indians or Ugandan Asians these days.

The problem for Mitchell is not merely that he lost against NGN, but that Rowland won against him. Presumably, therefore, if Mitchell continues to repeat the defamatory sting which gave rise to Rowland's cause of action against him, by, say, publicly maintaining his current version of events, it would be open to Rowland to have him restrained from doing so by injunction. The result may well be that Mitchell will never be able to give a straight answer on this subject, which would look very suspect.

I assume he would declare that openly and possibly like a broken record to disarm the position and highlight his position. "I would love to be able to reply fully to that but bizarrely the courts have felt the need to curtail my freedom of speech in that respect", or words to that effect. He could always stand up in parliament and rail against it I guess...

It's rarely about race, its about culture. If people come to England, fit in, rub along, go with the grain of the existing culture, very few people will care. The Chinese community has been significant in the UK for decades, and yet you dont hear a word said about it, even in places where its it very conspicuous. People that arrive and adhere to a culture that clashes with ours, and make no effort to fit in, are likely to get a hard time, irrespective of their ethnicity or skin colour.
I am an expat, I live in the same community as the middle class locals, my kids go to local school, we largely blend in, and have no trouble at all. Other expats make a fuss, expect to be treated like Americans or British would be at home, bang on about Freedom of Speech, etc., and unsurprisingly find their welcome wearing out very fast.
Victoria State election results from around 9am UK time tomorrow in Australia, Labor hoping to make their first state gain of the Abbott government. Night!

Not sure I want to sacrifice £400 profit for the sake of 5 months impatience.
Right... time for bed. Long day.
Well, I have the answer.
Forget Laser, and go for this, the best product in the world.
