If that poll had came out on Friday, would it have forced Ed out?
  • Any good recipes for squirrel-knutlets? Should we hang them out for a long period, or cull them in-place, now? *

    * This is not an assault on the immigrant Squirrel population of Greenwich (even if Nottinghamshire cat-lovers were licking-lips). It is just a sad/bad pastiche of an old, and over-used, metaphor that should be put to bed. :)

Ipsos Mori is the new gold standard

    Joe Murphy ‏@JoeMurphyLondon

    POLL: CON 32 (+2); LAB 29 (-4); LIB DEM 9 (+1); UKIP 14 (-2) @IpsosMORI in tonight's @standardnews

Oh dear Ed really is crap.

First Poll since June where EICIPM(NOT).

Really looks like LAB are going to miss an open goal to me.
  • Can you explain how I have used my son as a political football?

You raised his predicament as a symbol of the current government. Both yourself and I have experienced unemployment: You see your experience as a right-of-passage; myself - well - it is a fact of life. Did you mention to your son you were about to unleash - whatever path you expect - his situation onto cynics like me...?

No, I said that he was unemployed, looking for a job, but not getting JSA or any other benefit. I made a statement of fact. But I guess it was a bit ambitious to think you might understand that. Oh well. I will return to ignoring your posts.

Pay (excluding bonuses) now outstripping inflation say ONS. 1.3% increase in pay. Inflation at 1.2%

Statistically insignificant. The poll the other day showed most people aren't feeling the recovery. The Tories need to accept that and work around it.

    What about this ?

Earnings for those who have been in work for more than a year increasing by 3.7 per cent a year
Have you a link to the ONS re this 3.7%

Looks incredulous to me unless we are talking about FTSE 100 Directors
I take it TGOHF was talking Bollox then?
    Normally does

In context, it was quite clear that his son was an example of someone who was unemployed yet not claiming JSA.

May I also nominate my daughter; unemployed, job seeking yet claiming no benefits of any kind.

It's clear that the official figures underestimate the actual numbers of unemployed. Even the most pedantic of Internetians would accept that, even if they claimed that it was by but two.
