Just remember, I tipped and backed Spurs to finish in the top 4 this season, plus, I'm also going to back them to win on Sunday.
The best odds currently available on a Spurs top 4 finish is 3/1 with Spreadex. My guess is that they'll finish either 4th or 5th, so this looks like fair value. DYOR
I've also backed them to win the Europa Cup, can still get 14/1 on them.

I think The top 4 will be in City, Chelsea, with Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool fighting out for the last two places.
Letter tomorrow signed by 100+ major Scottish business figures saying YES would be a disaster for Scotland.
I do think Better Together may be going a little bit OTT with the scare stories. It reminds of the 2008 Mayoral campaign when Labour tried to make out the sky was literally going to fall in should Boris become Mayor - In the end you can get so OTT with the scare tactics that it all becomes too much and people switch off.

Excuse me for being too lazy to google this - but I was wondering whether this comes at the expense of the 4th place team (in the case of the Premiership) and havent found an answer.

The key thing pointed out on R5 is why play such a weakened team when Man U have no European games this year, it's the PL and the 2 cup competitions only... now it's not even that.

You pays your money - frankly they could finish anywhere between 3rd and 6th and it's very early days but so far they're looking good.

No, fourth place still retains a Champs League place.
The only way the fourth place team doesn't qualify for the Champs League, if another English club wins the champs league, but doesn't finish in the top 4.

I thought there was a new rule after that happened whereby we'd get 5 spots in the CL if it happened again. I may be wrong though, I'm far from sure.

Louis Van Gaal is rubbish, as a strategist and tactician he's like Hannibal.
The worst thing that happened for him was doing so well with the Netherlands at the world cup. Raised expectations at Manchester United.

I agree precisely and if I were a betting man, haha, I would suggest that Man City to win the title at 3/1 with Corals is a better bet than the same priced bet on Spurs finishing top 4 but DYOR.

9: Been reading through the articles, must admit never reading the Torygraph for a long (very) long time, but do the readers actually detest Cameron so much?
The ones who read it online and comment about it certainly do. One of my favourite comments was how he is secretly a LD. I've heard that about Clarke a lot, but not as much with Cameron. They detest him. Granted, a lot of those commenter's are UKIPers wh oyou'd expect to hate Cameron.

Almost as bad as the Torygraph. But of interest, sort of, I always thought that the debate in Whitby, about 940 or so, was the beginning of the end of the Celtic Catholics and of the real start of the Roman orthodoxy in the UK?

Mr. Brackenbury, there are in my experience no minor ailments that cannot be cured by a big hot curry, lots of whiskey (with lemon, honey, glycerine if you want to pretend) and some tender loving care in a nice warm bed. Probably, as Dr. Sox, would no doubt tell us the body's immune system is doing all the work but why not give it a hand. If my prescription doesn't actually cure then at least it makes the patient feel better. If one is going to have a nasty throat/cold/etc then you might as well enjoy it.

Husband and dog away in Cumbria sending me pictures of picnics in the hills. Harrumph! He's meant to be working. Two cats on bed. Loathe honey but have done all else you suggest (other than curry - am trying to lose weight).

It's the earliest I've had a fire but, hey, I will be v positive when am in NY next week. Any tips from PB'ers most welcome.

Posting on PB.COM like any other website, is a privilege not a right. If Mike or any of TPTB aren't happy with the discussion of any particular topic they have every right to ask people to shut up and talk about something else. IMO.
So that said, shall we have a discussion about the merits of FPTP v PR v AV Squared! :^O
Had a late lunch today and saw Manchester United playing something called MKD.
I see Man U are playing with a Chevrolet logo on their shirts.
This goes a long way to explaining their recent record....
MKD = Milton Keynes Dons (MK Dons) - since 2002 the "official successor" to the old Wimbledon FC (who won the FA Cup in 1988). Subsequently, a new "AFC Wimbledon" was formed with backing of disgruntled fans who were against the move to Milton Keynes. AFC Wimbledon currently play in League 2, the fourth tier of English League football. MK Dons are in League 1.

Firstly, I'd like to commend you for being more open about moderation policy. It is a highly welcome development.
Secondly, I'd just like to ask who is saying things that threaten Mike with legal action?
You in the past on occasions.
One time, when there were convictions in a trial on this sort of topic, you accused the judge of being lenient towards child rapists, because of political correctness and questioned his fitness to be a judge.
The facts were, the people convicted, weren't convicted of child rape but of lesser crimes, and that the judge sentenced them to the top end of the sentencing guidelines of the crimes they were convicted for.
Other posters have accused certain politicians being complicit/condoning these crimes for electoral benefit.
When PB is read by from the Prime Minister down, we're not a quiet obscure part of the internet.

I was reading about this earlier. It sounds like the new rules are going to be a nightmare to get used to, particularly in relation to buying and selling cars.
This is what I don't get about politicians. Something like the road tax system can run smoothly for 90 years, then along comes Boy George or whoever, and for reasons only known to them, they start fiddling about and changing things.
I know you have to move with the times but of something ain't broke it doesn't need mending....

I'm not aware of the post you're speaking of, but if I got my facts wrong I apologise for doing so. What were the lesser crimes I was referring to? I have used the term "child rape" to refer to "sex with a child". It is my understanding that such an offence is widely accepted to be called statutory rape in common conversation.

Yougov are dropping the daily poll and replacing it with a daily Indyref poll.
No my life is over!
when?
why?
for how many days?
I suspect not much longer after Sep 18...
If Yes wins, Yougov will continue with their polls after the 18th to show why the electorate are wrong.
The paranoia appears strong tonight!
Not at all. Kellner has stated the other pollsters are getting indy polling wrong while Yougov are nailing it. If it turns out he's wrong I don't foresee a mea culpa. After all he didn't give one after stating Labour were going to win the Euros in Scotland.

Posted this a while ago when you asked for hotel recommendations, but think the system ate my post!
- The El is great if you like that sort of thing; slightly unusual in terms of NYC (and what London is trying to match with the Garden Bridge)
- I'd skip most of the museums, as they are just too big to be fun. However, would highly recommend the Frick and the JP Morgan Library as slightly different and much more manageable
- It's worth trying to get away from MidTown/Upper East side if you can - that's a very unidinesional view of NY. Although Smoky Mary's just off Times Square is always a treat on a Sunday morning

Your husband has deserted you in your hour of need and taken the dog with him? Well, I trust you know how to deal with that sort of behaviour! At least you have the two moggies.
As for the curry, don't worry about the weight issue - we are talking medicine here. If a damn good ceylon or vindaloo (with all the trimmings) means you don't lose that half a pound this week, does it really matter? Honey is of course very good for you, but if you don't like it then probably the answer is add more whiskey.
Can't help you with New York. From my experience in working in the USA (Washington, El Paso, Miami and Puerto Rico), the best advice I can offer is don't go there in the first place.

It would be surprisingly odd, if there was an above average swing to Labour in South Yorks in May next year. The challenge for Ed M will be to limit the electoral damage after today's report.

The topic, that over the years has caused stress for the moderating team is topics like this and we operating on a safety first basis.
Roger can attest he was banned when he wanted to discuss Lord McAlpine's name, and we prohibited any discussion of it.
They were convicted of trafficking not of sexual activity of with the children involved.

Er! David Cameron can read? I always thought he had a flunkey who read out loud articles of interest over cappuccinos and croissants at breakfast time. (Yes, I do know cappuccinos are not drunk at breakfast time, but we are talking about DC aren't we?) ROFL!
Pretty pathetic childish comment. You might as well say simply 'I don't like David Cameron' -- but what is the point of that? Maybe try to say something relevant and intersting.
I despise Ed Miliband for his past policies and his present and future ones. He is a Europhile (unlikely to offer a referendum) from a marxist background and as far as I can see he has inherited far too many bad habits from the US Democrat Party and has learnt nothing from the failures of the last 13 years of Labour misrule. Hollande in France gives us a good template of his likjely tenure in govt. Sadly its all too clear he can read - its his comprehension that is at fault.
I hope SO will be back. He is a thoughtful poster.
On a separate note: it is 26 August and I'm sitting in my living room in front of a fire nursing my first sore throat of the season.
Mrs Free, wrong attituide there, I have to say. Much better to be positive. So rather the weak and wimpish, "I am nursing the first sore throat of autumn", get up and attack. "Huzzah! I have the first sore throat of the autumn season. This my chance to glug great measures of whiskey, diluted with honey, lemon juice, glycerine and hot water, served to me in bed (which has an extra blanket on my side*) on the hour every hour by my devoted husband/slave who has first taken me out for an enormous and very hot curry".
Be positive Mrs. Free!
*add a cat if you have one available or perhaps a smallish dog.
Mr Llama: I am going to appoint you my devoted slave!
Husband and dog away in Cumbria sending me pictures of picnics in the hills. Harrumph! He's meant to be working. Two cats on bed. Loathe honey but have done all else you suggest (other than curry - am trying to lose weight).
I rather like snuggling in front of fires but am (a) due to fly to NY next week to celebrate Daughter's birthday; and (b) have long-term lung condition which makes it imperative to avoid infection.
It's the earliest I've had a fire but, hey, I will be v positive when am in NY next week. Any tips from PB'ers most welcome.
I remain, Ma'am, your devoted slave.
My recipe is near HL's : Lemsip, spoonful of honey, juice of half a lemon, boiling water to halfway up the mug, then top up with dark rum.
It cures most colds, and if it doesn't then you are past caring.

I never knew the government were making it illegal to transfer your road tax when you sell a car...PB should have had a thread on it to keep me informed!
The argument is replacing tax discs with an electronic registration. This has the advantage that when a copper scans your licence as well as checking insurance and MOT electronically it also checks for tax. That is clearly an efficiency improvement (and I don't think the civil liberty implications are material in this case).
The non-transferability is a wrinkle / hassle but we'll get used to it (and - on the margin - will raise more income)

It will be a disaster. Finland saw its unemployment rate shoot up overnight from 3% to nearly 20% on a smaller economic adjustment than the one confronting an independent Scotland. Funnily enough, Better Together don't seem to want to put numbers on job losses. Maybe they think they won't be believed.
Alex Salmond doesn't know what a financial asset is. Not a surprise as he thinks sharing a monarch means sharing a kingdom. He's not very good with words.

Well I'll be sorry to see the tax disc go. I generally like getting "something" for my money. Be it a tax disc I can put in the car or a paper licence for the TV, etc....

Do not say last Boxing Day
Not even a 4:0 thrashing by franchise FC. I note ManU are playing Burnley at the weekend. Could be fun...
Still, bring on the Arsenal on Sunday!
Not as much as the YG daily poll though
The only way the fourth place team doesn't qualify for the Champs League, if another English club wins the champs league, but doesn't finish in the top 4.
IMO opinion there is more chance of you joining a union than Scots leaving the union though.
The worst thing that happened for him was doing so well with the Netherlands at the world cup. Raised expectations at Manchester United.
As one of my Man U supporting friends put, any side that has Smalling and Jonny Evans is always going to struggle.

This goes a long way to explaining their recent record....
If YouGov win the indyref polling battle, then I'll laugh like a drain.
It should be remembered that YouGov were the most accurate pollster when it came to the Scotland and the Euros.
