My God, we need to get these people laid or the country itself will be screwed.
I have the solution. A massive government investment in pubs and discounted booze, and the internet to be switched off between 7pm and 5am.
It's not booze. There are few people as unattractive and frankly incapable as drunken twentysomethings, plus there are consent issues. I think there should be compulsory national courses for twentysomethings in washing, combing ones hair, getting a better haircut, shaving regularly, moisturising, showering, and going to the gym. Plus shaving those stupid f***ing beards off.
Both my boys have beards and lovely long term girlfriends. Neither has well paid jobs, but they are kind, good listeners do the cooking and housework and fun to be around. Neither is particularly classically good looking, though not ugly. Each met their girl via Hinge.
It's less marked in Britain, but in America there is a major difference between young men and young women over politics, and the divide is increasing:
Party politics is not everything, but increasingly it is about cultural and social issues rather than economic ones. These matter, so why would a young woman want to date a gun-toting anti-abortion climate change denier?. Their interests and aspirations are just too far apart, particularly for the College educated
So, it's not just a matter of brushing up on grooming, but also a brushing up of attitudes that's needed. This is an international phenomenon, with South Korea the most extreme example.
So the men all have to be left wing as well, to please the left wing women?
Why don’t the stupid left wing women veer right, to get the men?
Or have you considered the possibility that the politics ARISE from the way western society seems to favour women, hugely - and it does. And I speak as the father of two daughters. They massively benefit from structural sexism
You illustrate my point most excellently. Display those attitudes as a young man and don't expect to be dated. No one wants a whiney boyfriend complaining how life is so stacked in favour of girls.
Do you really want to compare numbers in terms of sexual conquests? Really? How can I put it politely: I don’t think you’re going to win
But let’s not go down that road eh
My point is, society is now structured towards women: women live longer, they get better grades in schools (as exams are changed to suit them), they now dominate the professions, they demand equality in every job yet somehow men still do all the shit physical jobs and they don’t demand equality there
And still men are legally discriminated against. Women only shortlists. Prizes for women. Jobs advertised for “minorities and women”. It’s obscene and absurd. And young men are starting to notice
Remember, when claiming conquests hookers don't count.
And no one has ever lied on the internet. Unlike in bed.
I would never lie on the internet.
My great integrity in this regard is how I managed to seduce Margot Robbie.
Indeed that might be a fun game for a Sunday evening
Ten places in the UK that should be UNESCO listed but aren’t because we’re a bit crap at selling ourselves (and bribing UNESCO)
Kilpeck church & the churches of SW Herefordshire Tintern Abbey The Victorian heart of Manchester Oxford Cambridge The guildhalls of the City of London The Wren churches of the City of London Victorian Glasgow Porchester The ensemble of Winchester cathedral and the walk to Holy Cross
And, bias aside, Winchester College as the first example of the public schools that have made everyone’s lives better by producing luminaries such as Rishi, Boris, Dave etc. it has more listed buildings than Manchester so deserves it for being a living museum of educational, religious and secular architecture since the1380s.
And the Isle of Man for being a living museum of the 1950s.
Only Rishi went to Winchester, Boris and Dave went to Eton.
Indeed former Labour leader Hugh Gaitskell and Gladstone's Chancellor Robert Lowe went to Winchester so it has produced as many top Labour and Liberal politicians as Tories
They should ban Public Schoolboy twats from ever being PM.
No Attlee, Churchill, Macmillan, Blair, Cameron or Gladstone or Boris or Sunak in that case
My Grammar School produced Peter Bone. I don’t think you can draw conclusions from a few individuals. After all, if I’d got into Parliament………..
I have found my spiritual home. A weird wooden shack next to a warehouse in a naval yard that ONLY sells oysters. And maybe smoked trout if you’re good. And it’s busy busy on a Sunday night and you can sit outside and watch the sun go down on the blue waters of Crozon bay

Grandparents empty savings to pay private school fees
Families are trying to find ways to pre-pay fees in anticipation of Labour adding VAT to the already escalating total
Private schools are increasing fees by up to 8 per cent before the likely addition of VAT by a Labour government after the general election, forcing grandparents to raid their pensions and life savings.
Fee rises in September will make the cost of attending some schools more than 20 per cent higher than three years ago — and VAT would double this increase.
Financial experts said clients were using pensions and other savings to pre-pay fees in the hope that this would avoid any VAT added by Labour if they win power. Labour has pledged to introduce the tax on private school fees which it says will raise £1.6 billion for the state education system.
Independent schools have made up for freezing fees during the coronavirus pandemic with substantial increases over the last two years and the same is expected in September.
Schools say they are mindful of the pressures on parents, but that they also have to fund teacher pay rises and the increased cost of fuel and food, while offering top-notch facilities and education.
A Times poll of a dozen private schools that have already announced their fees for September found the annual increase ranged from 3.8 per cent to 8 per cent, with an average of 5.5 per cent.
Winchester College, Rishi Sunak’s alma mater, will increase its maximum boarding fees to £51,855, up 5.5 per cent from this year and 12.5 per cent from 2022-23.
Manchester Grammar School’s highest fees will increase by 4.9 per cent from this year to £15,930. The top fees at Magdalen College School in Oxford will go up by 6 per cent to £23,085 and at Lingfield College in Surrey by 6.1 per cent to £21,675.

On topic - MIC have a methodology that is rather less brutal to the Cons so it should not surprise that they are a little more encouraging in these elections too. Not so much for Ben Bradley in the EM of course or the Con trailing fourth in GM. Whole load of vulnerable Con seats in those two areas nowadays.
An interesting aspect of the results will be what they tell us about the differing polling companies strategies. Meanwhile, the PCC pols give the best national 'real votes' snapshot out there - comparable with three previous rounds. We should enjoy them as they may well be the last of their kind!
Perhaps they are saving themselves for marriage or want to be Roman Catholic priests?
Marriage rates and religion are also declining rapidly, so that seems unlikely.
In the West maybe but of course without marriage and committed relationships, the richest and best looking will get most of the girls and then probably move onto the next once they have had their fun with them
Marriage doesn't seem to make much difference to them, though.

PB at its finest "Kids today are a bunch of poofs" barminess. Any perceived failings of young people (never our own, our kids are perfect) is all our fault. The kids are the ones having to deal with our screw ups. We voted the previous governments in. We spent all the money from our housing bubble. We're knackering the environent, we're the ones feeding them crap that makes them obese and mentally ill. We're the ones dumping hormones into the food chain. We're the ones inventing technology that makes what few skills we've passed on obsolete. We should be the ones apologising, not blaming the poor feckers!
The reason they can't afford property is because the population has risen so much over the last 25 years, and most of them support the policies that have led to that situation.
The cost of housing crisis is linked to many things, population being a small part of it. The house building cartel is a bigger villain than immigration.
The reduction in average household size has been a big demographic driver too. But population size is part of it. So we need more houses (and flats).
Yup. It's not in the big builders interest to build enough affordable homes and it's not their responsibility to do so, so we can't complain. Only government can solve it. A radical government could make serious inroads into the problem. We just need to find a radical government!
First you need to break the Big Lie that house prices matter a damn to anyone apart from speculators, the dead and the multiply behomed. I'm currently house hunting and it's faintly ludicrous that to get a decently sized three or four bed (120-140sqm) you need to have two salaries in the 80th percentile, no children, a pair of modest inheritances and equity in an existing house. This is a size of property my parents bought in the late 80s with one 80th percentile salary, no inheritances, a child on the way and a comparatively less valuable property than we currently have. The increase in house prices has made my new move harder, not easier, since the absolute difference in value between current and new property has gotten larger. If I were moving ten years ago I'd have been able to afford a larger property or have a much smaller mortgage with no other changes to my circumstances.
I agree it's complex and one of the big factors is how property asset prices have outstripped wages (and inflation). This was particularly true in the 2000s - the era of cheap food, cheap fuel, cheap money and endlessly rising asset values.
That cycle has been broken to an extent by the GFC and Covid-19. What its left is people trapped in their housing, unable to move up (they can always downsize but that's not the option it was). Acquisition via inheritance is one way for people to get on the ladder but that's not possible for everyone.
Building new houses and flats is a step forward but if you price them outside the means of the community in which they are being built you're not solving the problem. Building houses for profit backed by a deliberate policy of restricting available land has got us to where we are - we can break the latter but how do we break the former?
I was boring enough to read the executive summary of the Competition Commission's report into the state of the housing market and aside from their conclusion that housebuilders were acting like a cartel (my summary, not theirs) the thing that struck me was that they quite clearly stated that the only time that enough housing had been constructed was when there were significant programmes of state sponsored housebuilding. So the answer is clear: the government should build houses and sell them at cost. Unfortunately that is unlikely to happen.
Except in Scotland, and the second bit doesn't happen.
Meanwhile back on the island, a young guy who drove his car into a pillar at the end of a road, demolishing it before he drove off to flee the scene, has been convicted after his fancy iPhone deduced from its movement that it had been in a car accident and auto-called the emergency services….lol.

Can we have some feedback on poster boards please from others as some measure of performance in the locals? In neither our home borough nor our holiday home borough do we have elections so I only have a view from where I have visited. I have driven extensively around Mole Valley and it is a sea of yellow with one Labour board. The council is 29 LD, 4 Tories and no Lab, and with 1/3rd up there appears little likelihood of change, but really it should be a Tory opportunity. Cobham in Elmbridge again is all yellow. Surprisingly this is a LD ward whereas it should be Tory. In Central Cambridge the Greens win the poster board war followed by the LDs and then Lab.
Not a single Tory board seen anywhere in those 3 locations and in the first two they should be the main contenders.
Anyone seen Tory poster boards?
Some Tory PCC boards in farmers fields here and a score or more for the local Independent party. Indeed I've seen posters for Independents in neighbouring Boroughs too. Nothing from Labour.
I'm in a very flat, and quite dull scenery wise, period of the Camino, so I'm trying to get loads done each day

Just so you know it wasn't me who flagged you. To be honest I would like to see the flag option taken away.. I didn't take offence. My wife might, but she won't see the post.
Regardless of the flagging dispute, having a high quality woman that will marry you - and stay married to you - is a far better marker of a real man that a hundred one night stands.
It's better for me, but I don't think this is one of those things where you can draw a universal truth from personal experience. Other people might find other arrangements suit them better.

Absolutely- I would love the idea of being with someone forever but have had a mix of long relationships punctuated by periods of sluttiness but never found the right person to settle with although I have two women I love still I would spend the rest of my life with if certain things were different.
I remember my mother being hounded by a very famous person to leave my father (he even would drop messages whilst on tv to her, once about taking her children on)and she would have had a very different life but she would never dream of leaving him as marriage was a life sentence whilst my father definitely was a rogue.
The point is that you can stay married to someone and it might not actually be the right thing to do so it’s no marker of a “real man” it’s just circumstances and the mores of the day. Better to not force yourself to stay with someone when it’s not right and allow both parties to live their best lives.
My God, we need to get these people laid or the country itself will be screwed.

I disagree. I think the human experience is more common than suggested by the modern obsession of everyone being a special snowflake.
I think even the men who sleep around eventually find it hollow and unfulfilling. Temporary sugar buzzes may happen, but it doesn't cure the underlying spiritual hunger.

The cartels are a symptom - the local politicians *like* them since this reduced house building to a level where the NIMBYs don’t vote for their opponents.
The politicians aren’t going to build a zilllon council houses for the same reason. Politicians who get behind local house building get targeted by opponents who raise the NIMBY flag.

Sorry if you replied last time and I missed it (maybe you can cut and paste?). I’ve got to do a walking tour for the gazette very soon and I’m worried I’ll get bored. Walking more than 2-3 hours I find dull. How do you do it? Do you use audiobooks? Music? Especially in a boring area…
Or do you just go in to a kind of zen state? Onwards ever onwards?

I don't think comparing numbers is a good metric. I'm happy to concede a lower number, but in my humble opinion they were all stunners, non smokers, intelligent and no money ever changed hands.

I'm in a very flat, and quite dull scenery wise, period of the Camino, so I'm trying to get loads done each day
I've got to a village called Bercianos del Real Camino. I got a room for 25€. The room has a lock but I don't have a key, and I have to share a bathroom
I've found a little bar/restaurant and am now eating calamari and chips with quite a nice local red
Indeed that might be a fun game for a Sunday evening

I replied this morning with the answer I found under a bridge
I sometimes play music in the last hour or two, when the path is empty, out loud on my speaker. It helps me kick up my slowing pace a bit
But during the rest of the day, under the bridge applies

He did reply. I think the gist was each to his own, which is probably the only response.
I like walking alone and getting into a sort of zen state but I also enjoy walking with someone and having the sorts of conversations you don’t get when face to face - like a long road trip in a car. Brydon and Coogan in the trip sort of idea. So maybe you need to find an extremely interesting walking companion.

Most of those convicted have something in common. Apart from being evil, that is.
These criminal cases with the same common profile continue to crop up every few weeks. And yet politicians won't talk about it because they are cowards.
The reality is probably higher than what is admitted.
I don't think men under 30 under-report their sex life...
Any trend at 18 may just reflect the extended childhood of our younger generations. The same phenomenon that means 10 year olds are no longer going off walking for miles on their own and being back in time for tea.
The trend at 30 is the one to watch and worry about. That’s where Japan and Korea have sowed the tragic seeds of their demise. People should shag, and they need to be doing so in their 20s even if the late teens are now not the done thing.
My God, we need to get these people laid or the country itself will be screwed.

A "real man"? Sounds like a bit of an old-fashioned formulation.
It makes a difference to the majority of other men however, as women are meant to commit to them as sole life partner rather than be one of multiple partners for the richest and best looking

Fair enough. I like a spirited debate - that’s why I’m here
My position is I love sex and I love women. Young women in particular. I genuinely tried gay sex - not for me
So it’s women and I physically prefer them under 30, that is the way I am made. I really really wish this was not the case - it’s a buyer’s market if you’re a sane male and straight and you fancy women over 45, but I don’t
Ergo if I’m to be sexually happy in a relationship I need a younger woman - this gets increasingly hard as I age (and increasingly ridiculous). There may come a time - soon - when I accept being celibate. Its not quite yet
If I were to marry someone she would have to accept that I won’t want to have sex with her after that age. That’s quite tough - cruel even. And then we’re both unhappy. Is that “better”? According to you it is
So do please explain how - with my make-up - I am meant to find a wife and settle down forever in marital bliss, as you define it, given the man I am
You play the hand you’re dealt. I have played and I still play the hand that god gave me. And I think that’s all you can do - and try not to hurt people

Red wine with fish - are you a Russian assassin?
Maybe, but I also really like the Bierza reds
And squid isn't a fish
Though there is a fair amount of tannin in Bierza, IIRC. It’s the tannin that doesn’t go so well with seafood. Usually.
What is the ciurrent breakdown of Westminster parliamentary seats in the area of the Tees Valley mayoral election?
The area includes the councils: Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Stockton-on-Tees and Redcar & Cleveland.
This includes the current seats: Darlington (CON) Part of Sedgefield (CON) Hartlepool (CON) Stockton North (LAB) Stockton South (CON) Middleborough (LAB) Middlesbrough South and East Cleveland (CON) Redcar (CON)
So, five and a bit to two in the Conservative's favour.

Perfectly acceptable, if the wine and fish don't object.
Same basic principle as, "If it doesn't scare the horses" (with the SSI corollary "and the chickens don't mind".)

So women in the professions have everything stacked in their favour?
Speak to some female engineers and you'll come away with a different impression.
Interestingly, my engineering team has an exact 50/50 split between men and women. I think it's good. Less dickwaving compared to other teams I've been in.

Have visited Chester (Cheshire, England NOT Pennsylvania etc., etc.) and especially admired the "continuous half-timber galleries" by which I circumnavigated the old town.

Exhibit A of why Lib Dems always outperform in locals. They really put the elbow grease into it.
Has anyone anywhere seen a Reform poster for the locals? No, didn’t think so. It’s a fictional party.
We only have the Poice and Crime Commissioner in my area (Southe Kesteven) and based on the number of posters seen I would suggest all the parties and the post itself are fictional. Zero. Nada.
Over in Nottinghamshire they are also voting for the East Midlands Combined County Authority Mayor. Which is a very stupid name since it only covers 2 of the 6 counties in the East Midlands. But travelling between Newark and Nottingham I haven't seen any posters for any elections there either.
On topic, I think when people vote for mayors they want interesting personalities. That would seem to explain Livingstone winning as an independent, Boris winning in a Labour city, Burnham winning Manchester (though probably any Labour politician would win that one), Street in Birmingham and even Houchen in Teesside outperforming polls. Khan, seemingly the exception to this rule, has been blessed with two hopeless opponents, and likely a third.
London does not always vote Labour. The GLC was Tory- held 1967 - 1973 and again 1977 - 1981 when Labour only won narrowly. The last Tory GLC leader was Horace Cutler. As late as 1987 the Tories had a very good GE in London when they won Waltham Forest and Battersea - both having stayed Labour in 1983. Johnson's 2008 win was nothing like as exceptional as many like to suggest - particularly in the context of an unpopular Labour government nationally. The 2008 Mayoral election took place in the same month the Tories captured Crewe & Nantwich at the by election which followed the death of Gwynneth Dunwoody.
I don’t think Humza Yousaf will make it to the vote of no confidence on Wednesday. He will resign before that as he cannot accept support from Alba and the Greens have made clear they won’t back him.

Yep, they are all desperate for unlimited multicultural immigration and the end result is the country is well and truly f**ked. Now they whine and whinge about it. Enjoy life mooching off your parents.

I think we should just hand back the keys and move to Barra if that's what we've come to.
I don't think comparing numbers is a good metric. I'm happy to concede a lower number, but in my humble opinion they were all stunners, non smokers, intelligent and no money ever changed hands.
Really? Your wife certainly charged me. But I don’t mind paying, TBF
Who on earth flagged this?? I am actually contributing useful advice for PB-ers, that if they meet @kjh’s charming wife DON’T EXPECT A FREE ONE
I am sure @kjh himself will happily back me up. He’s surely even keener than me to keep her income going
Why flag simple consumer advice that’s actually helpful??
*bewildered face*
Just so you know it wasn't me who flagged you. To be honest I would like to see the flag option taken away.. I didn't take offence. My wife might, but she won't see the post.
Regardless of the flagging dispute, having a high quality woman that will marry you - and stay married to you - is a far better marker of a real man that a hundred one night stands.
Is it? Who says?
I do. If you disagree, you can argue your reasons. And readers can determine for themselves who is more persuasive. That is the point of discussion.
And I think that’s all you can do - and try not to hurt people
My wife is 40 years old, still hotter than many (most) 25 year olds and we still have great sex. You have to marry someone who's sexually compatible with you, always says yes, and who both really fancy each other.
But all those seats would be likely to fall to Labour at an election held now.

Yes ,when i got my polling card in Nottingham for this ,I assumed it was for the all of the East midlands and got shocked when looking up the boundaries for it , rather than dim but harmless Lincolnshire or little tichy but quaint Rutland we end up with scummy Derby .
I don’t think Humza Yousaf will make it to the vote of no confidence on Wednesday. He will resign before that as he cannot accept support from Alba and the Greens have made clear they won’t back him.

Neither Regan nor the Greens will vote to end the SNP govt even if they withdraw support for Humza. An early election would lead yo unionist majority and earn them undying infamy in the eyes of indy supporters.
Does that apply both ways? The Common Travel Area is a big hole in the UK's immigration policy. And Irish immigrants to the UK are the least likely to call themselves British over time. If Irish people want to continue to benefit from joining British society, they should learn to integrate.
Can anyone local tell me what Street has done to defy gravity. Quietly boring and competent? It isn’t just that the Brum council has damaged the Labour brand locally?

But if Humza resigns they have to vote *for* his replacement if elections are to be avoided. That's the issue.
Edit - if he doesn't resign, they can wriggle off the hook by abstaining.

His brand is John Lewis, which everyone loves, and not the Conservatives.
Also Labour have botched Birmingham Council.
But, it'll still be a miracle if he holds on, IMHO.

He has a good honest sounding name - Most voters (even in Brum) would struggle to identify him so a good blokey name helps .

Red wine with fish - are you a Russian assassin?
Maybe, but I also really like the Bierza reds
And squid isn't a fish
I can get calamari and chips from the chip shop up the road via Deliveroo. No walking needed, and certainly not 45km a day.

Johnson's 2008 was driven by the outer boroughs outvoting the core.

I tolerated the Leon conquest posts, Casino's marriage posting and the middle aged dick measuring tonight but reminding me of THAT particular political power couple is a step too far.
Does that apply both ways? The Common Travel Area is a big hole in the UK's immigration policy. And Irish immigrants to the UK are the least likely to call themselves British over time. If Irish people want to continue to benefit from joining British society, they should learn to integrate.
It would be quite funny and beautifully ironic if the Irish wanted to exit the CTA due to free movement causing excessive immigration for them.
Absolutely, they should only allow State Schoolgirl geniuses like Liz Truss to be PM.

I think most men have a preference for youth. But - assuming you're psychologically stable - if you are in healthy love with someone, that attraction overwhelms the youth preference, even for sexual attraction. Getting to explore and pleasure the body of the person you think is most fantastic in the world is just an all time high, every time. So at that point all the imperfections of age become markers of that person and just contribute to knowing it's them.
Anyway, that is a separate discussion to my original point. Which is that one high quality woman, sticking with you and commiting their life to you for decade after decade, is more impressive than a large number of women experimenting with you for one night.
I don’t think Humza Yousaf will make it to the vote of no confidence on Wednesday. He will resign before that as he cannot accept support from Alba and the Greens have made clear they won’t back him.

It a testament to your notably unorthodox, imaginative thinking that you raise the deliciously challenging prospect of TRUSS ascending to Bute House, to become premier of the Scottish realm.
And why not? TRUSS is a leader for ALL, and the Scots are no exception. Westminster’s loss will be Holyrood’s gain, an impressive idea whose time has come.
Does that apply both ways? The Common Travel Area is a big hole in the UK's immigration policy. And Irish immigrants to the UK are the least likely to call themselves British over time. If Irish people want to continue to benefit from joining British society, they should learn to integrate.
Given how similar Irish culture is to British, I don't think that whether they call themselves British is either here nor there.

The life raft is now the mayoral elections .
I don’t think you can draw conclusions from a few individuals.
After all, if I’d got into Parliament………..
(only kidding!)
Except for my Khan voteshare bet, I haven't really dabbled.
Chester railway station is a wonder too, first visited there in 2015.

An interesting aspect of the results will be what they tell us about the differing polling companies strategies. Meanwhile, the PCC pols give the best national 'real votes' snapshot out there - comparable with three previous rounds. We should enjoy them as they may well be the last of their kind!

Most of those convicted have something in common. Apart from being evil, that is.
I think even the men who sleep around eventually find it hollow and unfulfilling. Temporary sugar buzzes may happen, but it doesn't cure the underlying spiritual hunger.
The politicians aren’t going to build a zilllon council houses for the same reason. Politicians who get behind local house building get targeted by opponents who raise the NIMBY flag.
Or do you just go in to a kind of zen state? Onwards ever onwards?
Speak to some female engineers and you'll come away with a different impression.
I would quite like a punt on the calculated NEV, but haven't seen a market.
Gladstone, Churchill, Attlee, Macmillan, Blair, Cameron, Sunak
You have to admit that is one heck of a decay curve...
I sometimes play music in the last hour or two, when the path is empty, out loud on my speaker. It helps me kick up my slowing pace a bit
But during the rest of the day, under the bridge applies
I like walking alone and getting into a sort of zen state but I also enjoy walking with someone and having the sorts of conversations you don’t get when face to face - like a long road trip in a car. Brydon and Coogan in the trip sort of idea. So maybe you need to find an extremely interesting walking companion.

NEW: One of Humza Yousaf’s most senior ministers could be lined up to replace him as he fights for his political career this week.
Factions have begun to form, with phones buzzing as different factions take the temperature after a frenzied weekend
The trend at 30 is the one to watch and worry about. That’s where Japan and Korea have sowed the tragic seeds of their demise. People should shag, and they need to be doing so in their 20s even if the late teens are now not the done thing.
Speaking of political "treason" note that both Gladstone and Churchill were guilty as charged; WSC twice.
For the TT fact that when Churchill "re-ratted" (his own word IIRC) was from Lib > Con MAY mitigate the crime(s) . . . somewhat, perhaps?
According to you it is
So do please explain how - with my make-up - I am meant to find a wife and settle down forever in
marital bliss, as you define it, given the man I am
You play the hand you’re dealt. I have played and I still play the hand that god gave me. And I think that’s all you can do - and try not to hurt people
Georgian orange wine with fish is excellent too.
I don’t usually make predictions but….
I don’t think Humza Yousaf will make it to the vote of no confidence on Wednesday.
He will resign before that as he cannot accept support from Alba and the Greens have made clear they won’t back him.
It’s over.
Richi should take the hint...

Same basic principle as, "If it doesn't scare the horses" (with the SSI corollary "and the chickens don't mind".)
Truss being our first PM fully educated at a comprehensive for secondary education was denied the chance to ensure a state school educated leader amongst the 3 when replaced by Sunak
Indeed it depends on the fish. Turbot can take quite a quite hefty red. Fish curry a sparkling red?
Not including Asquith (City of London).
Lloyd George and Macdonald were both educated by their local parish schools.
PB pedantry- the latter two schools are “Private Schools” not “Public Schools”. I’m deeply disappointed in you for not knowing the difference. Double detention for HYUFD.
However, saw no rows, donnybrooks, bruhahas, etc., etc. seemed like pretty peaceful burg; which is why I asked about "Rows of Chester" schedule . . .
Over in Nottinghamshire they are also voting for the East Midlands Combined County Authority Mayor. Which is a very stupid name since it only covers 2 of the 6 counties in the East Midlands. But travelling between Newark and Nottingham I haven't seen any posters for any elections there either.

There is only one person with the wisdom, the brilliance, the determination and the skill to ride this storm out.
It is time for...TRUSS.
(That was just to save @Anabobazina the effort, by the way.)
Enjoy life mooching off your parents.
Aren't you being a little silly?
Edit - if he doesn't resign, they can wriggle off the hook by abstaining.
Also Labour have botched Birmingham Council.
But, it'll still be a miracle if he holds on, IMHO.
The demographics of London now makes it very hard for a Tory to win, IMHO.
No more "T R U Know What"
Ok?
Anyway, that is a separate discussion to my original point. Which is that one high quality woman, sticking with you and commiting their life to you for decade after decade, is more impressive than a large number of women experimenting with you for one night.
And why not? TRUSS is a leader for ALL, and the Scots are no exception. Westminster’s loss will be Holyrood’s gain, an impressive idea whose time has come.
