People who would not normally EVER discuss UFOs calmly debated whether the UAPs in all the footage and evidence of the last four years are: alien drones, actual aliens, a mass hallucination etc
It is going mainstream
Do you recall who brought the subject up? I ask, as no one, no one has ever mentioned UAPs to me in conversation. And I’m a known Fortean.
God we were all quite drunk. Perhaps it was me? I honestly cannot remember
But most of the conversation did not come from me, despite my keen interest in the topic
One of the picnickers has a Physics degree from UCL, an other has a Physics degree from Imperial. Not stupid people. Highly scientifically literate - and calmly discussing aliens
Lots of reports that Russia is forcibly conscripting Ukrainian citizens in recently occupied territory.
I think this will be the 2 'independent republics that Russia has recognised, but both of them only held some of the land they clamed before the war, now they are fully occupying the rest, they have been conscripting all male residents, they can get there hands on.
Some of the reports relate to Mariupol.
Mariupol is in the area clamed by DPR, so that fits.
A really good thread with multiple contributions from various sources, on the possibilities and implications of Putin dropping a "small" nuke on Ukraine
Quite ominous, seems a real chance he will do this. Others say No, it is still highly unlikely. But they appear to be relying on Putin as a rational actor. Not sure he is that any more
He'll need to get someone to do it for him. And what would be the reaction in the rest of the world. I doubt even President Xi would think it is in China's interest with covid trouble, rising food and energy prices to have Putin do that. It would surely mean a complete embargo on oil and gas exports to Europe and a possible direct military response from Nato - most likely against Russian military infrastructure.
The fear I have is not what Putin does if he is losing but what he does if he has lost. I remember my history teacher posing the question to us of whether Hitler would have dropped an atomic bomb at the end of WW2 if he'd had the capability of doing so. Even as a futile gesture because he knew it was all over.

A senior Turkish culture guy I met when I was in eastern Turkey, two weeks ago, told me HIS UFO story. As a 12 year old he saw a huge spacecraft hovering over his house. "Definitely not of human origin"
The story is not exceptional, the fact he felt able to chat about it, and wanted to talk about it - unprompted - WAS notable.
Did you catch the recent series with Craig Charles? Supposedly the greatest evidence for UFOs/UAPs. Lots of rehashed old cases (Rendlesham etc) plus the same UAP footage over and over again. In the era of mass camera phones you have to ask why the evidence isn’t getting any better. I used to imagine what we’d have if only people had cameras. Now they do, and we aren’t getting any pictures. Some of the stuff on the series was laughably poor. The lights over a US city that were military flares, exactly as I’ve seen all the time on Salisbury plain. A supposed welsh crash site where a bonkers women found some damaged trees which looked exactly the kind of damage you get from heavy forestry work. It’s all so weak. No doubt there are some sightings that so far have defied explanation. But that doesn’t need to invoke alien tech, or diamens from another dimension or whatever.

rcs1000.Why would Labour put up policies? Almost all the most successful (at getting elected) politicians have been those who were blank slates, allowing voters to project onto them.
The last Labour opposition to win promised to abide by Conservative spending plans during the 1997 election. Hardly a blank slate.

I wonder if we’ll find out what it’s all about in our lifetimes. Statistically we won’t I suppose, been going on for so long there’s no reason to expect our generation is the one for whom the mystery is resolved. Quite a good chance however that we are living in the period where humanity is able to broadly recognise that there is a mystery (or recognises again. I’m of the view that past eras have been far less closed minded than Western Civ has).

I largely agree. Where are the killer videos? We've all got brilliant cameras in our hands, 24/7. Doesn't make sense
And yet the ongoing - and indeed increasing - credulity attached to these reports, in elite US political/intel circles, suggests something is up. Whether it is a groupthink US schizo-meltdown, or some subtle US attempt to freak the Chinese, or the US is being spooked by its own secret tech OR it is something even stranger (and that does not have to be ET) I do not know
I'm just noting that the subject has not gone away, not at all

Are you sure they weren't just winding you up?
FAIRLY sure
I have no issue with discussing it. Perhaps the most interesting thing about this is where the chatter is coming from and why? There have always been people in the states who make money by selling stories about Area 51, MJ12 etc. It’s pretty easy to do. Then add in some genuinely unexplained footage of something and suddenly it’s aliens. The reality - until someone explains why the video and camera images aren’t getting better despite world wide coverage, I’m out.

Overall I think that the question has got as good an airing as it ever deserves right here on PB.
I'd hold back from being excited by a 12 yo stating something was definitely not of human origin.
Personally, I'm absolutely certain that alien life exists, and I'm entirely sure that there's no direct evidence for it.

I have no idea why anyone would look at iPhone footage from an anonymous citizen when there’s verified military footage and telemetry with attributed eye witness testimony from multiple reputable sources. Or listen to a Welsh woman’s anecdote about some tree damage, when a few weeks ago the ex head of the French security services said it was an open secret among the nuclear nations that they regularly track super sonic underwater objects on the sub sea tracking systems that none of them officially admit to operating.

Goodness knows re the rest in that list. Most people don't give religion a second thought even if they believe in a god.

A question to the lawyers here: Andrew Bridgen MP has been ruled to have lied under oath. Is this automatically a perjury conviction, and if so does this disqualify him from his seat in the House of Commons?
A by election in North West Leics would certainly be an interesting bell weather, would it not?
No and no. To be found lying in a civil case is to be disbelieved on the balance of probabilities. In egrigious cases the Judge might report the matter to the Crown to see if they want to prosecute perjury to the requiste standard of beyond a reasonable doubt.
Of course, some people might feel suitably ashamed but many seem to be beyond it.
The more serious risk is that he has apparently been referred to the Committee on Standards, which may decide to suspend him for 2 weeks - which would open the door to a recall petition.
"Two SNP MPs accused of sexual harassment have had complaints against them upheld by a parliamentary body, according to newspaper reports.
"Patrick Grady and Patricia Gibson are believed to have received the findings of an independent probe and asked to respond after claims that first emerged in the Daily Record."
Potentially, yes. We discussed Grady's case on yesterday's thread - a conceivable Labour gain (Glasgow N). Gibson's seat looks safe SNP (Con 2nd, would need a 9% swing to Cons),

Margaret Ferrier MP (remember her?) is on trial later this year. Her seat is certainly vulnerable to ScotLabour. 5k maj, and was held by Labour 2017-19 - one of the short-lived Corbyn gains.
One or two by-election losses for the SNP could be very consequential.

So, we know that space is incredibly difficult to traverse for humans (and likely any other biological entity) because space is hostile to life as we know it, and travel too slow to be practical within our lifespans.
It's also posited that we're reaching the technological singularity within the next couple of decades, which will give us true AI (if we don't get there sooner).
My best guess is the "visitors" if they are visitors are machine intelligences and have no interest in talking to us, they're waiting for the AI to be born. We are but the primitive primordial soup from which AI will emerge.
Then again I did a lot of acid when I was younger so I'd take anything I say with a pinch of salt.

Why ex US PRESIDENTS tho? eg Obama?
He has no need for publicity or money, his books already sell bazillions, his place in history is secure; if anything, his suddenly sober admission on US TV that "there is stuff we cannot explain" made him look quirky and unreliable. So why say it? He had nothing to gain and quite a lot to lose

I largely agree. Where are the killer videos? We've all got brilliant cameras in our hands, 24/7. Doesn't make sense
And yet the ongoing - and indeed increasing - credulity attached to these reports, in elite US political/intel circles, suggests something is up. Whether it is a groupthink US schizo-meltdown, or some subtle US attempt to freak the Chinese, or the US is being spooked by its own secret tech OR it is something even stranger (and that does not have to be ET) I do not know
I'm just noting that the subject has not gone away, not at all
So, we know that space is incredibly difficult to traverse for humans (and likely any other biological entity) because space is hostile to life as we know it, and travel too slow to be practical within our lifespans.
That was the tentative conclusion we all reached in Green Park. If there is something weird happening - and not a post-plague mass hallucination (not impossible) - then it will be alien DRONES with AI on board, able to traverse millions of miles for squillions of years, hence the total lack of communication with us?
They don't know HOW to communicate with us. They are just watching, as that is what they are told to do. They are gawping in the rockpool, observing the anenomes and sticklebacks. They are me age 8 when I was obsessed with ants
I had a boozy picnic with friends in Green Park yesterday
People who would not normally EVER discuss UFOs calmly debated whether the UAPs in all the footage and evidence of the last four years are: alien drones, actual aliens, a mass hallucination etc
It is going mainstream
I doubt that'll help the debate.
It might, inasmuch as a lot of people now feel emboldened to discuss the subject, without the fear of being labelled a lunatic

Ex head? The classic. No doubt he has a book, or is doing the paid interview rounds. I’ve seen the verified military footage. Not that impressed to be honest. Is that it? The point about iPhone footage is the coverage. That and ring doorbells, cctv etc. We are recording the planet, yet the evidence is if anything getting weaker. We dont agree on this. I think you are pretty convinced, whereas I am totally unconvinced. That’s the joy of pb.
I don’t know what belies the mystery. But yes, I think the breadth of testimony and evidence from around the world indicates something is up. If this was a few disparate groups of people looking to make money, then that would be what I and most everyone else thought for the last however many decades. But it doesn’t come close to explaining the statements, info releases and legislation from the heart of US politics in the last 2-3 years (on a bipartisan basis).
There are alternative explanations beyond ET but it’s hard to say that any of them that fit the data in the round are less bizarre frankly (and I include US deep tech in that).

Yet he said it
No idea in his case. Shits and giggles maybe. I’m reminded of senator John Glennon on Frasier, talking about seeing things in space. Obviously fictional fun within the show. I’m also sure that there are things that haven’t been explained to date. The trouble I have is the leap from the evidence to the touted explainations. Like Rimmer, it always seems to be aliens.

Booze picnics have been mainstream forever.
Though admittedly there was a pause during the pandemic,
'Rees-Mogg, the minister for Brexit opportunities, said the Church of England’s most senior clergyman “misunderstands” the policy and that it was in fact “almost an Easter story of redemption” for Rwanda.
The former Commons leader said the UK was “providing an opportunity to Rwanda” and that the policy therefore “must be a good thing”.'
Rees-Mogg is of course a Roman Catholic not C of E, no surprise he is not that bothered by what the Archbishop of Canterbury thinks (albeit the Pope is also relatively liberal on refugees if a bit harder line on abortion and gay marriage).
Boris is Roman Catholic too, as I believe is Liz Truss by heritage if not practice. Sunak and Patel are Hindus. Javid is Muslim heritage as is Zahawi. In fact the only senior member of the Cabinet who is Church of England now is Raab but even he is half Jewish.
Quite a change from the May years when she Hunt and Hammond were all C of E. Indeed more Anglicans on the Opposition frontbench like Lammy and Ed Davey, albeit Starmer is an atheist
Lol, Boris is no more a Roman Catholic than I am C of E. That is name only.
Goodness knows re the rest in that list. Most people don't give religion a second thought even if they believe in a god.
Rees Mogg certainly does, he had a Novus Ordo Latin Mass at his wedding.

We don't actually know anything much about this - space may be as easy as pie to travel across. Very likely better as pie sounds a tricky traverse.
One thing we certainly know is that we are not surrounded by noisy neighbours, and seemingly no neighbours at all.

No, sorry, "shits and giggles" is not a good explanation. This is where the Entirely Skeptical case collapses. Too many senior Americans have come out and said Truly Weird Stuff, in the last few years
This certainly does not mean we are being buzzed by Martians. It does mean there is a puzzle which has not been solved
The people who are particularly screwed by inflation are of course the elderly, to the extent they are living on non linked pensions (which includes the state pension now the triple kick has gone) or cash savings. The young can earn their way out of trouble, and the well heeled can hope their non cash assets will inflate
So there goes the core vote
I can see Sunak being ordered to do something about this once the May elections are over.
The core vote must be kept onside.
Drowning rats save themselves. The elderly will be left to whither.

There's never been a Westminster by election gain for Labour from the SNP although Labour gained the Holyrood constituency of Dunfermline from them in 2013. I would be cautiously optimistic about either Rutherglen or Glasgow N given that Labour did OK in Airdrie and Shotts last year, even though they fell short.

Surprised I've never heard of a birder seeing a UFO. Out at all hours, with very high quality optics - but not a peep.
An entire alien invasion fleet could land in front of them, and so long as there was a rare Hawfinch or Willow tit in sight a birder would not notice.
I remember going to Plymouth once on business with a colleague and parking his car in some side street. We were rather startled to see (a) chaps with binoculars and cameras and (b) a sign saying Nurse's Home. Allewgedly the c. with c.s were twitchers all out to see some lesser spotted passerine of a species I have completely forgotten but was a v. rare migrant/windblown stray to the UK.

Yes, that is certainly possible
Although, after Ukraine, it would seem a rather byzantine and laborious way to get more money when all they have to do is point and say Look, Ukraine, and the entire western world will double its defence expenditure in a week

Perhaps more to the point. what's all thsi disrespect for the Established Church of England, once the ideological arm of the English State, from the supposedly conservative party?
The Conservative Party policy is not disestablishment. You do not have to be a member of the Church of England to support the Queen remaining Supreme Governor of it. Rees Mogg certainly does, even if the Pope is the head of his own Church on earth

Or, as others have suggested, there is a spin from the armed forces about this designed to increase defence spending.
Yes, that is certainly possible
Although, after Ukraine, it would seem a rather byzantine and laborious way to get more money when all they have to do is point and say Look, Ukraine, and the entire western world will double its defence expenditure in a week
This kind of stuff is decades old. People see something weird in the sky. A few days later they have a symptom and add A to B and make alien propulsion systems. I’ll admit, I’m a colosal skeptic. But like Mulder I want to believe. I’ve grown up on Fortean stuff. I’ve dreamed of seeing a ghost, an ABC, a UFO (as was). I’m 49 and so far nothing. I’ve seen barn owls silently ghosting by, that my aunt saw as the ghost of an old lady. I saw an ABC in the field next to our house, that turned out to be a normal black cat. I’ve seen flares on the plain that others describe as UFOs and known exactly what they are. I’ve seen the emergence of camera phones and to some extent it’s killing the Fortean world. The old classic mysteries are getting slowly debunked. I still believe, but it’s getting harder.

Surprised I've never heard of a birder seeing a UFO. Out at all hours, with very high quality optics - but not a peep.
Because an unidentified flying object is likely to be a bird you don’t recognise?

Reading all this, not sure if you have heard of the Behavior Panel? It's a YouTube channel presented by body language experts - a couple of ex US military intelligence amongst them. They look for signs of deception, that kind of thing.
Anyway, they have a couple of videos which you might find interesting. One is analysing what the former US presidents have to say about UFOs. A while since I watched, but they include Obama, Clinton and Trump (can't remember if Dubya is included). Interesting to watch, seems the presidents all give near identical answers - as if they have been told exactly what they are allowed to say. And they are all withholding information for whatever reason. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jbx1UCxDAO8&list=PLguNzIxZa3ETu8Jbo8B2QB6m-7oaOEh4e&index=6

An ABC?
Alien or Anomalous Big Cat, such as the Surrey puma, or the beast of Bodmin.
Yes indeed. I'd forgotten about her. Unsympathetic though I am to any form of nationalism, I think a degree of irritation among SNP supporters would be understandable if she went to prison for breaking the Covid regulations while, um, others...

Surprised I've never heard of a birder seeing a UFO. Out at all hours, with very high quality optics - but not a peep.
Because an unidentified flying object is likely to be a bird you don’t recognise?
A bird I don't recognise? What a slur!
I might not immediately put a name to a bird, but I'll have a flamin' go.....
If they all had numbers on the side like trains it would be a lot easier.

An ABC?
Alien or Anomalous Big Cat, such as the Surrey puma, or the beast of Bodmin.
Sent to bed early so she misses Dr Who, with no dinner.
Surely having to watch that rubbish is more of a punishment?
It’s certainly not vintage, more a table wine.
Still, we probably find out who the new doctor is today.
Isn't there one more adventure for the current Doctor? Anyway, keep us updated. We can (or could) bet on who will play the next Doctor.
Yes, this was the second of three specials. Special in name only.
OMG, it was so terrible.
And no reveal of the new Doctor in the trailer, but some other (spoiler) surprises!
It was execrable. Pacing terrible. Plot non existent. Explanations for anything? Maybe it was all lost in rapid dialogue. And tedious love story shit. No one cares. And Yaz one of the most amazing people the doctor has met? All she ever does is follow the doctor around. Dan is far more interesting. Utter shit. RTD has a huge job to do.

It's noticeable that the chief video Debunker on social media is Mick West, a Brit, who used to be a convinced Ufologist. A believer. Now he spends his entire life debunking UFO videos, always with politeness, often quite effectively, sometimes unconvincingly. And yet there is the sense that he has some personal vendetta against the concept. Like UFOs have Let Him Down too many times, so he will never ever ever believe, not again. He'd probably debunk a video taken by himself of them landing on his patio and doing his wife up the Bakerloo Line with a probe the size of Kamchatka
It reminds me of Orwell's description of atheists "they don't just not believe in God, they actively hate God, and want you to know it"
They are the mirror image of the UFO true believers who believe EVERYTHING, and anyone with doubts is a conspiratorial heretic or a Man in Black sent to erase our memories
I wonder if this is a feature not a bug of the human brain, when it comes to seriously important belief systems: you get Total Believers and Total Skeptics, and both are beyond persuasion, yet they can suddenly switch to the opposite position, like the magnetic polarity of a planet abruptly inverting

You raise an interesting point about the human state. Since the 1940’s we’ve seen UFOs and now UAPs. But before that it was airships (late 19th C America for instance). Before that it was angels and demons etc. We see weird stuff (or think we do) and the brain connects the dots. It’s no coincidence that after Close Encounters of the Third Kind lots of people started reporting little grey aliens, something reinforced by the success of the X-Files.

A couple of thousand years ago there was some lad who supposedly came back from the dead and then a few weeks later ascended into the sky. If that isn't aliens I don't know what is.
I still believe, but it’s
It reminds me of Orwell's description of atheists "they don't just not believe in God"

Alien encounters are a different subject from UFOs. They've been going on for millennia, they don't typically involve aerial craft of any kind, and there's a very strong argument that 1. they have a huge amount in common with what people experience on ayahuasca/DMT 2. people have trace amounts of DMT in them (whether ingested or generated by the pineal gland is up for debate) 3. possibly abductees are more susceptible to endogenous DMT, or producing more of it than most, and therefore have the typical DMT trip experiences of seeing lots of babies in little drawers, invasive medical exams etc etc.
The thing about UAPs is the amount of man made shit up there these days, which to me makes stories of aerial battles over Nuremberg in the 1500s more valuable than shit modern mobile phone footage.

I live in Warminster, home of the Warminster Thing, from 1964 to the mid eighties, one of the most notable UFO flaps in the U.K. Hundreds of people claim to have seen thousands of UFOs. Most were seen at night on the downs above the town. Lots of people came who had probably not really looked at the night sky in a dark sky area. I’ve no doubt that most of the things they saw were misidentified satellites (just getting going back then), distant car headlights, military flares etc. Some of the reports are so obviously flares it’s untrue, but I guess if you’ve never seen flares and are in a heightened state of anticipation you might be convinced. Your DMT theory is interesting. We tend to think that what our eyes/ears etc shows us is reality, but of course it’s all interpreted by the brain. It does go wrong, or optical illusions wouldn’t be a thing. Some people will just be making shit up for fun, but I think most people who report odd things truly believe they have seen something.
Phillips P. OBrien @PhillipsPOBrien · 3h Well this is interesting. Ukrainian armed forces report that Ukrainian forces are pushing out from Kharkiv. This would be very threatening to Russian communications, logistics coming out of Belgorod. Take a look below where Bazaliyaka is in particular (next tweet)

By the way, if you want to believe in SOMETHING PROFOUND YET BEYOND OUR KEN, just do some seriously good ayahuasca (as I did in early December 2021)
After that, you will have no doubts at all
What I find fascinating about psychedelics is this, that given an unknown one you can quite often tell what it is from the specifics of the hallucination. If you have become an item of furniture or the spine of a book whose pages are being rapidly flipped through, it was salvia. Fairground/circus scenes and machine elves is DMT, but snakes and alligators is ayahuasca (despite being same active ingredient). If you are forever lighting cigarettes and dropping them and frantically searching for them, datura. I can see how molecules can fuck with the brain in general, but the specificity is awesome. It would be great to administer them all to some hunter gatherer who had never seen a fairground or a cigarette or a book and see if they get the same effect.

They are the mirror image of the UFO true believers who believe EVERYTHING, and anyone with doubts is a conspiratorial heretic or a Man in Black sent to erase our memories
I wonder if this is a feature not a bug of the human brain, when it comes to seriously important belief systems: you get Total Believers and Total Skeptics, and both are beyond persuasion
You’d never get that past the ethics committee. Shame, as it would be a really interesting project.
I still believe, but it’s

How can you "hate" something that doesn't exist?
Well, quite. if Orwell said this he was channelling that monstrous bore GK Chesterton, and you get the same bollocks from Waugh in Brideshead Revisited, that if you are an atheist you are In Denial and must Hate God. Whereas actually He doesn't exist and I couldn't be arsed to hate Him even if He did.
Capitals are satirical btw not my Inner Believer trying to get out

It's noticeable that the chief video Debunker on social media is Mick West, a Brit, who used to be a convinced Ufologist. A believer. Now he spends his entire life debunking UFO videos, always with politeness, often quite effectively, sometimes unconvincingly. And yet there is the sense that he has some personal vendetta against the concept. Like UFOs have Let Him Down too many times, so he will never ever ever believe, not again. I don't know where you get this atheists hate god from. As I don't believe in him I don't have any emotional thoughts about him at all and I have yet to meet an atheist who does. God never crops up unless a religious person brings it up. You appear to be imposing your personality traits onto those you disagree with. It is the same with Brexit. Just because you are angry about it you assume us remainers are spending day and night fretting. We aren't.
So in a nut shell I don't believe in God and I am a remainer, but I only discuss either here and only if someone else brings it up and I am not angry about either unlike your good self.

It would be great to administer them all to some hunter gatherer who had never seen a fairground or a cigarette or a book and see if they get the same effect.
My ayahuasca experience was more like speleology. I went down and down and down through the layers of my own conscious, then subconscious, then unconscious lizard brain - surrounded by glittering twinkles of pentagons and hexagons - and it was like a deep dangerous cave-dive. Finally I emerged into a huge nave of emptiness, and a magnificently sparkling underground river clearly connecting ALL conscious life, or maybe all of existence. Monumental
The river did have a serpentine feel, which others have reported from ayahuasca - the snake of DNA?
And the glittering pentagons and hexagons reminded me of my one-and-only DMT trip in the 1990s, which was otherwise entirely NON-spiritual, and full of hooting robot faces and cartoonish architecture
The other main takeaway from ayahuasca was my encounter with God. Because I met Him for only the second time in my life. The first time was in Regents Park on LSD and speed nearly 40 years ago, so He has had time to change. He has not changed
He is a c*nt. God is a heartless c*nt. I asked him about plastic,. He said "I don't give a fuck about plastic"
The Jews of the Old Testament were right, the New Testament is wrong. The Creator is brutally beyond our comprehension. He is the God from the Book of Job. Humanity is unimportant and can go fuck itself
I still believe, but it’s
It reminds me of Orwell's description of atheists "they don't just not believe in God"
Yes, I had it some years ago, and get occasional recurrences. I was greatly helped in the first attack by the Epley manoevre. Being helped by it is quite diagnostic, as there are other causes of vertigo.

I wonder if this is a feature not a bug of the human brain, when it comes to seriously important belief systems: you get Total Believers and Total Skeptics, and both are beyond persuasion
Exactly
You see precisely the same dichotomy with the "lab leak hypothesis". Or indeed Brexit, FFS
There are people who cannot entertain the idea it came from a lab, and just discussing it makes them weirdly angry and hateful. Like extreme Remoaners
So I suggest this is a flaw in the human brain when it comes to really important beliefs, and belief systems, and nothing to do with the validity or otherwise of the belief in question.
At either end of the spectrum there are the Faithful who ALWAYS believe, and then there are the anti-Faithful who will NEVER believe - and the latter can be just as foam flecked, ranty and embarrassingly passionate as the boggle-eyed believers
Soyuzmultfilm has deleted 1973 cartoon "Treasures of sunken ship" from its YouTube channel, where adventurers in a submarine "Neptune" discover a sunken ship that they first call a pirate ship, but then after discovering Z marketing on it realize it's a "fascist's destroyer". https://t.co/mJB2lqJwOE
Every day I am reminded that Ukraine elected a comedian who turned out to be a leader, whilst we elected a leader who...
Well, you can all fill in the rest.
Zelenskyy excuse for his "interesting" financial arrangements were straight out of Boris playbook though....I never organised to offshore all my proceeds of tv shows rights for tax reasons, it was so the shows couldn't be influenced by politics....as believable as I didn't know it was a party.

This certainly does not mean we are being buzzed by Martians. It does mean there is a puzzle which has not been solved
I assume you have not met Richard Dawkins. Agnostics are not that bothered either way, plenty of atheists are militantly anti religion.
Plenty of diehard FBPE Remainers, Anna Soubry, Alistair Campbell, Heseltine etc do spend virtually all day and night tweeting or fretting about how awful Brexit is
I stopped posting my meal because the signal wasn’t great and it was getting really tricky to upload the pictures. All eight courses were superb.
And then..
The last dessert, a little doughnut with a shot glass of really rich chocolate sauce with a crunchy nut crumble over it, almost ruined it. At the bottom of the sauce was what seemed to be part of the nut crumble, but was in fact a lump of hard baked hazelnut shell. I nearly cracked a tooth on it.
I told and showed the lovely waitress; she rushed off to the kitchen and then back to tell me that the whole meal, and wine, was free!
There are only two sane positions on the existence of God
The first is Belief. If you have been awarded the Gift of Faith, you don't refuse it, it is tremendously consoling (and brings serious health benefits, inter alia)
The second is Agnosticism. "I just don't know. I don't have the gift of Faith, so I do not believe, but who am I to say it cannot be?"
Atheism is simply absurd. "I am a semi-hairy bipedal ape on an obscure planet in the suburbs of one galaxy amongst fifty trillion and I get beaten by computers at card games yet I have personally worked out the fundamental truths of the universe and reality and there is no creator, no purpose to the cosmos, nothing, tho wait if a scientist tells me that there are an infinite number of parallel universes yes that's probably true, because, er, we have microwave ovens so the scientists are always right"
Atheism is ridiculous. It is tomfoolery. It is childish.

A friend of ours is a militant Atheist and very well educated (well known Grammar School + Oxford). Try pointing out there are serious questions about the Atheist argument - and I get it, everyone has their own opinions - he flies into a rage. I find that totally illogical.
I can't be arsed to be militant about it, but I don't see that there is an interesting atheist argument to be had. It depends what you mean by God of course, but if your definition is both Omnipotent, and Loves Humanity, then you are fucked, because babies being machinegunned at Auschwitz while their mothers were burned alive. An Omnipotent god who actually gave a fuck would just terminate the experiment there, except that equally awful things have happened since the invention of fire, and he would have stopped it millennia back. So there may be some big ass wanker out there who created the world and stuff, but he is patently an arsehole.
Comments
The fear I have is not what Putin does if he is losing but what he does if he has lost. I remember my history teacher posing the question to us of whether Hitler would have dropped an atomic bomb at the end of WW2 if he'd had the capability of doing so. Even as a futile gesture because he knew it was all over.

It’s all so weak.
No doubt there are some sightings that so far have defied explanation. But that doesn’t need to invoke alien tech, or diamens from another dimension or whatever.
And yet the ongoing - and indeed increasing - credulity attached to these reports, in elite US political/intel circles, suggests something is up. Whether it is a groupthink US schizo-meltdown, or some subtle US attempt to freak the Chinese, or the US is being spooked by its own secret tech OR it is something even stranger (and that does not have to be ET) I do not know
I'm just noting that the subject has not gone away, not at all
The reality - until someone explains why the video and camera images aren’t getting better despite world wide coverage, I’m out.
I'd hold back from being excited by a 12 yo stating something was definitely not of human origin.
Personally, I'm absolutely certain that alien life exists, and I'm entirely sure that there's no direct evidence for it.
Goodness knows re the rest in that list. Most people don't give religion a second thought even if they believe in a god.
I’ve seen the verified military footage. Not that impressed to be honest. Is that it?

One or two by-election losses for the SNP could be very consequential.
Anyway perhaps the Conservative vote will surge as soon as flights take off from Linton on Ouse for Rwanda in the next few weeks.

Of course.
Though admittedly there was a pause during the pandemic,
They don't know HOW to communicate with us. They are just watching, as that is what they are told to do. They are gawping in the rockpool, observing the anenomes and sticklebacks. They are me age 8 when I was obsessed with ants
There are alternative explanations beyond ET but it’s hard to say that any of them that fit the data in the round are less bizarre frankly (and I include US deep tech in that).

He also tries to say the Rosary every day

One thing we certainly know is that we are not surrounded by noisy neighbours, and seemingly no neighbours at all.
This certainly does not mean we are being buzzed by Martians. It does mean there is a puzzle which has not been solved

Yet still the UFO revelations keep coming
https://www.the-sun.com/news/5053647/ufos-injuries-radiation-burns-pentagon-docs/
You can rattle through a Hail Mary in six or seven seconds, so even a full rosary doesn't take up too much of the day.

This is the best advice you have ever been given
Anyway, they have a couple of videos which you might find interesting.

Another video talks to the witnesses of The Stockbridge UFO incident. Basically, they believe the witnesses are being honest.

Bob Lazar is not judged to be credible (although in fairness, I didn't watch that one to the end).
I might not immediately put a name to a bird, but I'll have a flamin' go.....
And no reveal of the new Doctor in the trailer, but some other (spoiler) surprises!

Seems like they are taking a methodical approach. Having forced the Russians out of Kyiv, Chernihiv and Sumy that they are now focusing on Kharkiv.
And tedious love story shit. No one cares.
And Yaz one of the most amazing people the doctor has met? All she ever does is follow the doctor around. Dan is far more interesting.
Utter shit.
RTD has a huge job to do.

It’s no coincidence that after Close Encounters of the Third Kind lots of people started reporting little grey aliens, something reinforced by the success of the X-Files.

Couple of years he will have the same infamous haircut too.
After that, you will have no doubts at all
Has anyone had something called benign paroxysmal positional vertigo? Think I might have it.

The thing about UAPs is the amount of man made shit up there these days, which to me makes stories of aerial battles over Nuremberg in the 1500s more valuable than shit modern mobile phone footage.

Well this is interesting. Ukrainian armed forces report that Ukrainian forces are pushing out from Kharkiv. This would be very threatening to Russian communications, logistics coming out of Belgorod. Take a look below where Bazaliyaka is in particular (next tweet)

Every day I am reminded that Ukraine elected a comedian who turned out to be a leader, whilst we elected a leader who...
Well, you can all fill in the rest.
