"Digital ID cards pave way for £600m tax grabThat sounds like another disaster just over the Horizon.
HMRC hopes to use online identification to secure unpaid revenue and prevent ‘errors’"

There’s a pretty disturbing report in today’s Times, about medical staff who post anti-Semitic drivel on social media, without any form of disciplinary sanction. So, Dr. Ramah Aladwen described Royal Free Hospital as a “Jewish supremacy cesspit”, and a picture of the Chief Rabbi with the caption, “Rabbi genocide”, and went before a tribunal which ruled that her words would not “alarm or concern” the public.I am alarmed and concerned.
How could any Jewish patient expect a professional service from this doctor?
I’m quite sure I would be sanctioned by Solicitors Regulation Authority, if I did similarly.

Lord Hermer has accused the Tories of jeopardising a potential legal appeal over the thwarted prosecution of a member of the rap group Kneecap on terrorism charges.FWIW the legal situation as of right now is that a decision has been made by the presiding magistrate (who is the chief magistrate for England and Wales) that the proceedings are null and void and that the charge itself was unlawful. In other words, the decision was that there were and are no valid proceedings.
The Attorney General has written to the Opposition, accusing them of inaccurate comments and warning them of the “potential impact of their words on legal proceedings” over the dropping of the case against Kneecap rapper Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh.
In a letter to Robert Jenrick, the shadow home secretary, Lord Hermer disclosed that the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) is considering an appeal and said: “I am sure you will carefully consider any further public comments to avoid any risk of prejudicing any future proceedings.”

In that context it is hard to see how comment by the media or politicians can be prejudicial. There are in law no valid proceedings to be prejudicial about.
The fact there could be an appeal is irrelevant. We were and are all free to comment on Letby after the verdicts, even though there was to be, and may yet be further, appeals.

All hail the brilliance of which ever Oxford Liberal Democrat ensured that Agent Truss would infiltrate and destroy the Conservative Party.

Jenrick wants to sack activist judges !
So we’re going back to the enemies of the people and this should set alarm bells ringing because once you open up this Pandora’s Box “ activist “ will be used to label any judge that the government doesn’t like.
Jenrick really is a loathsome individual .

Kemi is against ID cards as it is an attack on civil liberties butI'm sorry. The Conservative Party wants to allow the police to just search anyone, without any grounds for suspicion?
Tories to give wider stop and search power in crime hotspots
Under the Conservative proposals, police in 2,000 areas would be able to act without having grounds for suspicion
Officers would be given sweeping powers to stop and search anyone in the 2,000 areas of the country with the highest crime rates under Conservative proposals.
Police will for the first time be allowed to search people without first having grounds for suspicion, Chris Philp, the shadow home secretary, will announce on Tuesday. The powers would be used in the areas with the highest rates of robbery, theft, burglary, violence, drug dealing and antisocial behaviour.
Police forces would be threatened with funding cuts if they refused to use the powers, which would be combined with an “intensive” deployment of live facial recognition cameras installed on police vans and fixed to lampposts.
