Weather forecasting is the obvious one where a forecast has measurable skill above guesswork (or simple alternatives, like persistence and climatology). The exclusions “help” in the sense of preventing the collapse of teaching for the other children. They are, of course, an abandonment of the children in question. It makes you realise why the Victorians were big on “interfering with the lives of the lower orders” as the Guardian might put it. Humans haven’t really changed. -

As I have said the betting this week seems to be going in a different direction to what appears to be happening on the ground. The experienced Lib Dem canvassers are returning to base seemingly quite optimistic, a trifle unusual given we are still two weeks out. I would say the Lib Dems are the value bet.
