Re: Has Trump ensured the UK rejoins the EU? – politicalbetting.com
PS For one demographic factor, I'd perhaps point to extensive urbanisation in the USA being around a century behind the UK. UK was 80%+ urbanised by 1890; in the USA it did not reach that number until post-2000. And country people - as in the UK - have a greater familiarity with guns in the normal patterns of life.… -

Patriotic catering update. I switched plans so that toad would be a starter. So the oven is now on for TITH made on little Yorkshire pudding tins, each with an embedded bug of sausage. Then it’s shepherds pie (hachis Parmentier). Then crumble de pommes. SP ready to go in. Already most of a bottle of Chateau London down… -

A good post. There seems to be a strange group think on these boards that are as terrified of offending Israelis/Jews as Starmer is. In the world outside it's not what I'm seeing. Outside this bubble there seems to be as much revulsion at the casual disregard for the lives of children and non combatants as you'd expect… -

. But the structure of our economy assumes a continued increase in population! And that increase has to come from somewhere - if you don't keep on importing ever more people, you'd have to find some way to raise the birth rate. I suspect that that would be much, much more difficult (and expensive). The alternative would be… -

It's quite depressing how you think that the tragic event of a teenager's death should be used to browbeat someone into abandoning their considered perception of the truth. Criticising crass insensitivity is one thing - your suggestion is quite another. It's a Twittery thing I think. Optics are all. -

The problem seems to be insanely bad writing decisions. Throughout Hollyweird. Take Game Of Thrones. The show runners said they were bored and burnt out and wanted to finish the show then and there. The studio didn’t say “thanks, here’s a nice payoff. Someone get me a zillion dollars worth of the best writers to finish… -

What a disgraceful and disgusting post. You besmirched the institution of the monarchy and then cockily and disrespectfully addressed him as "Chaz", which is completely disrespectful. And well you know it. He's our head of state, not some bloke on the street. The pompous and ludicrous one is you. Show some respect.
