Re: The next game changer? – politicalbetting.com
... But we've moved on now and have arrived in Belgium. We're staying at a Centerparcs near De Haan, which is far preferable to its English counterparts. It's just a nice holiday park - they don't expect you to stay there for your whole stay, not least because there is a rather good beach just over the dunes - and they… -
Re: Paranoia or should be worried about shy Trumpers? – politicalbetting.com
If you have one person on your street, within a few doors, who is flying a blue thin line flag and has Trump placards on their lawn, while the majority of Harris voters just have regular US flags, or none at all, then it would be easy to think that a majority of your neighbours are Trump voters. I think this polling result… -

Not true, Catholic Ireland for example has the highest birth rate in Europe and above average religious devotion. In France it is immigrant Muslims having the most babies, same with Denmark. In Italy and Spain it is over 60s most religious and they are well past child bearing years. The highest global birthrate in the… -

Trump's play will be to mire this is the state houses, some of which have now been populated with Trumpites...and then push in onto the Trumpreme Court to certify him... I wouldn't bet on this market...money could be stuck as the US sinks into a full on constitutional crisis and possible civil war... -

Agree... in part. Many people have set up private rocket companies, before and after. Ditto EV companies. Both SpaceX and Tesla almost went bust in 2007/8. but in both cases were helped out massively by the US government. Musk was very, very lucky with his timing. If it had not been for that, then both Tesla and SpaceX… -

Re: Can you spot the trend? – politicalbetting.com
There's a tangible value in AI already. It may not be obvious to the general public but it is there. LLM's are increasingly displacing search engines. That's a very big deal in itself. About 40% of my search inquires now go through Claude. No one wants to waste time and AI is faster for many simple queries. Additionally, I… -

Re: Liz Truss may have lost but she isn’t forgotten – politicalbetting.com
I beg to differ. Things like house prices are at abnormally high values and a return to affordability in the longer term is something most people would welcome. I'd see that as a correction rather than a crash. I don't accept the OBR or whatever as some kind of ultimate authority on financial competence. The UK has not… -

Re: Trump had another totally normal day yesterday – politicalbetting.com
? The damage is done by the kinetic energy. That goes as the square of the velocity and linearly by mass. A one tonne car doing 30 mph gives 90kJ A one-and-a-half tonne car doing 20 mph gives 60 kJ The one-and-a-half tonne car is considerably less. The one tonne car doing 30mph has half again as much kinetic energy.… -
