Re: politicalbetting.com » Blog Archive » Winter is coming: the reckoning
Been busy for a few hours, but entertained by the apparent argument that has broken out over my earlier comments about mandates. Why is this relevant now? Because the Commons is about to get blocked by the Lords in its bid to tear up the Withdrawal Agreement. "Get Brexit Done" was the slogan. And it was done. We left on… -

There has been rejections for a couple of years when it comes to Gilesgate. It was why my daughter managed to buy her house there. Interestingly 3 house have recently gone up for rent in her cul-de-sac. The 2 family homes were rented in hours, the student house is seeking 2.5 times the other houses and has zilch interest. -

Re: Sir Keir Starmer’s ratings are under Water(gate) – politicalbetting.com
No, basic economics shows they are intimately related. The lack of sufficient new housing where people want to live has meant, together with falling real interest rates for much of that time, that house price growth has been very high. This has meant that landlords have been tempted into the sector for capital growth, not… -
Re: As many union members support Reform as Labour – politicalbetting.com
Reform supporters are actually pretty consistent. They have realised that all the building (and there has been a huge amount of housebuilding in the last 15 years or so) is only happening to keep pace with the population growth from immigration. Indeed, there has been so much immigration that the cost of housing has gone… -

On the subject of Aberdeen. I am currently staying 3 days a week at the house of a friend (a South African) in the city whilst I work on decomm jobs up there. His house is in one of the nicer parts of the city close to Duthie Park. He had intended selling up last year and moving back to South Africa with his family. He… -

Has he ? I've barely heard of him since he left office: Biden, 83, has been writing a lucrative memoir, planning a presidential library and fighting prostate cancer. He was once the most powerful man on the planet, but now Biden’s public appearances have been scarce and his influence has palpably diminished. Chris Whipple,… -
Re: A 5% return in just over a week? (and potentially 40% in over a week?) – politicalbetting.com
I'm glad that due to my new hobby of having to see doctors, hospitals and radiographers practically on a daily basis I missed this piece of "banter". Meanwhile it's been reported that two Jewish people have been stabbed by an attacker in Golders Green Road. On Monday a memorial wall for Jewish hostages initially & now for… -
Re: politicalbetting.com » Blog Archive » Local By-Election Preview: June 18th 2015
Who are the Lords, an unelected House, to try to rig the electorate for democratic elections, over the heads of the democratic Commons that has just been put in by the people? Especially when the Lords is unrepresentative of the people due to massive Lib Dem overrepresentation and UKIP underrepresentation? -
Re: Brand continues to dominate the front pages – politicalbetting.com
It is often done. Here's some old media footage: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2evjE_Y_cVc To quote the description: "US presidential contender Barack Obama on Saturday lunchtime met leader of the British opposition Conservative Party, David Cameron, at the House of Commons, his last engagement in London before flying…
