@Cyclefree Sorry to hear you are ill, hope you get well soon. I have been having similar problems in the last month for very similar reasons and told to cool it down as well (trying desperately to make up for staff shortages by teaching double classes taking my de facto load to 26 hours a week wasn't a great idea? Who'd a… -

I think there is always a high degree of churn in Lib Dem VI because few people are core Lib Dems. Most people vote for them for tactical reasons or based on specific single issues, or just as a protest. Mush as I'd love that not to be the case, it is. In 2019 a lot of people switched to LD because of the Brexit issue and… -

I'm not sure what you've been drinking, but even with lockdown you do realise we're a long time from the lagershed aren't you? Hillary Clinton was a notably poor candidate. Even in the Democratic primaries she lost to a previously barely heard of unknown Senator, then nearly lost to a geriatric socialist no-hoper Senator… -

We already do it by having a minimum wage. Why cant I employ someone from Asia for £1 an hour if they are willing to work for it? We end up paying welfare to the people whose jobs have been taken by mass immigration of cheap Labour anyway, so why not act in their interests by cutting out the middle man and allowing them to… -

Re: politicalbetting.com » Blog Archive » Just a little bit of history repeating?
Don't be silly. I didn't take any of my children to political meetings, although one or two of them may have occasionally helped with leafleting. Did, though, once take my teenage daughter with me (on a Take your Daughter to Work Day) when I went to the House of Commons to meet with the then (female) MP for Thurrock. Said… -

Each to their own, Mr. Glenn. I prefer the Indian to the fully oriental but I think the principle is the same. For the past few years I have been cold free and I put this down to taking the medicine on a precautionary principle. Maybe, just maybe she thought that a house with a white van outside it and St George's flags was just a cliché of "white van man". Maybe she was trying to say something about the area she was working (where was Ed by the way?) in. I don't know. What I don't get is why this is a sneer, patronising etc etc. If it had been… -

The 'no MPs' argument and the 'Greens and Respect should have more right to be on the debates' line are both ridiculous, and if the people saying them think about it they would surely agree. People who justify excluding Farage on grounds of no MPs, can I ask, would you still say the same of UKIP were averaging 30% in the… -

Do you have a source for the deliberate spreading of diseases? During Pontiac's uprising in 1763, the Indians besieged Fort Pitt. Whilst closing all the borders has a certain degree of dystopia, I personally think that 1) At this point, with a viable route out of this crisis visible and available in the next 6 weeks or so, we shouldn't be taking any risks. Currently we have too strict a national lockdown, and far too weak an international lockdown,… -

The pandemic turned it into a National Covid service. Otherwise it wouldn't have been a problem. My dad is 75 and has aged 10 years in 10 weeks. Now too frail to be safe to release home from hospital, he's heading for a rehab unit to try and get some strength back. Yes, the look on John White’s face at the end, as he pulled up and quickly realised that his efforts had been in vain.
