Okay then, energy bills. The current planned “Energy Bills Support Scheme”, is to give every residential address a £400 discount on their energy bills, over six months from October. https://www.gov.uk/government/news/energy-bills-support-scheme-explainer There’s also: 1. A £650 one-off Cost of Living Payment for around 8… -

A trans woman writes: Something dramatic happened in the House of Commons yesterday [1 March 2021]: Penny Mordaunt told MPs that ‘transmen are men and transwomen are women’. This mantra – for that is what it is – has been said so often in recent years that it might now be an unremarkable way in which to wind up a debate.… -

Damn you, new thread! FPT: Pro_Rata said: "I am left asking what more can we do, but more thinking what option do we have short of things requiring full engagement with Russian forces." We already have a level of engagement with Russian forces, via our weaponry put in theatre. Can't imagine the Russian Army and its… -
Re: politicalbetting.com » Blog Archive » David Herdson says 2016 could be a good year for the GOP to
It is rare for me to completely disagree with a David Herdson piece but this is an exception. Firstly, having held the White House for 8 years this is not obviously a Democratic year. When this undistinguished administration comes to an end Americans may well be up for a change. Secondly, Hillary is no Obama. At her age… -

Generally, my experience of the NHS is of a pretty good standard of care and a rubbish standard of customer service. I took my oldest daughter to our local hospital recently (one of Greater Manchester’s smaller offerings, and it would have been rationalised out of existence long ago but for the fact it is the NHS’s first… -
Re: Sunak is a liability in contrast to Starmer – politicalbetting.com
It could go either way. Davey has not set the world on fire and the LibDems haven't carved out an identity beyond "we're Starmer for the south". But I find it difficult to see how Conservative MPs are going to hold on in those areas of the Blue Wall where they've been utterly eviscerated by the LibDems in local government… -

@rcs1000 Halifax House Price Index: Part II Anyway here is the yellow box which shows that on a quarterly basis UK houses prices have grown by 2.3% and on an annual basis by 8.8%. These remain the highest rates of growth recorded over the past year, though the current price/earnings ratio at 4.95 has begun to fall back… -

Re: politicalbetting.com » Blog Archive » Alastair Meeks says George Osborne’s star is dimming
Morning all :) I don't have a dog in the Conservative leadership race and nor am I ever likely to meet George Osborne. I have no doubt Osborne is a personable, charming and perfectly pleasant man in private but unfortunately that's simply not how he comes across on television or in public. Yes, I'm not a Conservative… -
