Re: An inauspicious start to 2024 for Sunak – politicalbetting.com
Well Two more loans by Nicola Sturgeon’s husband to the SNP should have been declared earlier, the elections watchdog has ruled. The Electoral Commission said enforcement action could be taken over the 2018 loans by Peter Murrell, the party’s then-chief executive. But the commission said it could only consider the matter… -
Re: politicalbetting.com » Blog Archive » NEW PB/Polling Matters podcast: Explaining the Labour ‘surge’
That's what I said last night. I guess the thing is the press can do the job for them. Plus it's undoubtedly helped them changing the focus to national security and away from social care. I don't think it's been mentioned but I think May's really lucky break was that Manchester didn't happen 24 hours earlier. The point… -

Re: Let’s talk about gender politics – politicalbetting.com
Funny anecdote. Robert Jenrick is criticising the Labour candidate for Newark for having been 'parachuted in' all the way from Nottingham. He is blocking loads of people for having the temerity to ask where he lives and particularly where he lived before he was chosen as a candidate for Newark? The answer of course is… -

From Nathaniel Rakich at 538: "You may have noticed that our real-time forecast has moved toward Republicans in the House. It’s being too aggressive, in my opinion. The model sees that a bunch of “likely Republican” districts (particularly in Florida) are now 100 percent likely to go red. But there hasn’t been the chance… -
Re: politicalbetting.com » Blog Archive » The LAB leadership: A three, a four or a five horse race?
If the GE election showed how utterly useless our MSM are, then the two press conferences at the G7 for David Cameron and Barack Obama has just proved it beyond any doubt. All the questions to David Cameron were about the BLOODY EU. Whereas Barack Obama was asked about Cyber attacks, the state of the dollar, ISIS and FIFA… -
Re: McConnell’s impeachment move means Trump looks set to serve a full term and there’ll be no President
You misunderstand McConnell's motives. He clearly hates Trump and wants to do as much as he can to marginalise him in future within the Republican Party. Moreover, he has absolutely nothing to lose, with a 6 year term that will take him to the age where he would surely retire. His lead will provide cover to other… -
Re: politicalbetting.com » Blog Archive » Local By-Election Preview: November 6th 2014
@Flightpath Yes Harold Wood Hospital was closed in 2006 and is going to be used to house Newham overspill, as are the new flats at Queens, and the land at St Georges in Hornchurch. You are right, £260m was spent building Queens Hospital wto replace Oldchurch.. money well spent you think? "The trust running Queen’s Hospital… -

"Profile: Oldham is a former centre for the textile industry, a town of red brick mills and dense terraced housing. There is a large Asian and Muslim population here and a history of racial tension which culminated in the Oldham riots in 2001, which later reports blamed upon self-segregation between the communities. As… -

On to the burning issue of the day: the top 100 tv shows of this century (so far). A sad omission is House of Cards, which easily had the quality to be in there, but has probably been omitted for reasons of supposed taste. It's a thorny issue when a work of genius becomes inextricably linked with the alleged behaviour of… -

Re: politicalbetting.com » Blog Archive » The Tories slip back sharply in the latest PB YouGov Weekly
Because of the decades long time delay, one can't say for certain. Perhaps the influx of perverts abated after '60's. However, there certainly was a culture of child abuse before the '60's: http://politicalscrapbook.net/2012/10/john-simpson-alleges-sex-abuse-cover-up-at-bbc/ Note that this involved a radio personality. Re: politicalbetting.com » Blog Archive » Betting on who will be Philip Hammond’s successor
Yet the facts are that since June 2016 the UK economy has started to rebalance in the way I have called for as long as I have been on PB. The trade deficit has significantly fallen while manufaturing production and house building have had their best periods for decades and there are even signs that productivity might… -

I don't think it has been. Especially when you consider how many reviews there have been I seem to recall 85 overs being bowled one day in the first Test and about 10 reviews that day. Considering 15 overs an hour, or 90 overs per day was the standard before reviews were introduced and no extra time has been added to… -
Re: This looks problematic for Number 10 – politicalbetting.com
On topic: is this really a problem for No.10? There have now been so many scandals that you wonder if the public has reached saturation point and fails to notice any new ones. I reckon that an organised vice ring of Tory MPs could be found to have been running an operation hawking rent boys and cocaine from the House of… -

Afternoon all :) While some turkeys may be pardoned and some others not so fortunate, it appears the turkeys doing the counting of the votes in America aren't stopping (that's cruel, those that have been counting the votes for more than three weeks deserve some recognition whatever the flaws in the system). Biden's lead… -
Re: A new hope is needed for Sunak – politicalbetting.com
FPT: As far as I know this story has not been retracted, and it claims to be evidence of Kremlin and specifically Putin support to help elect Trump. It doesn't say where the documents were obtained from but they were probably deliberately leaked by a Western intelligence agency that wants Putin's support for Trump…
