Re: Fifty Shades of Grey Voters. Sunak’s punishing polling – politicalbetting.com
I have NEVER said that in the past. In fact I've said the complete polar opposite. I have said that I want planning reformed so people can build whatever they choose (within building code restrictions) on their own land and that their neighbours should not get a say on what others build. I've said that if someone wants to… -

Re: Could LAB gain all 3 of the October by-elections? – politicalbetting.com
Okay, coming late to this, but it's time to get some facts out again. The Great Central route s beloved by railway fans, but is of f-all use for anything approximating the HS2 project's requirements. 1) It goes to the 'wrong' places. What was needed initially was a route to relieve the WCML, and the GC route goes the wrong… -
Re: Hard to see a LAB overall majority with this poll – politicalbetting.com
I don't know. * He may be extrapolating from a single poll (bad Sir Curtice!). * He may have a bigger overview than us (good Sir Curtice!). * Or it may be simply that the betting odds are skewed by a differential between gamblers. As you know, in EURef the odds were skewed by the fact that Remainer gamblers were wealthier… -

Re: The Mid Beds Independent who might be worth a punt – politicalbetting.com
You clearly haven’t read it properly. There are fast non-stop trains at 9.10 and 9.40 and a fast train with three stops at 9.16. The other four are semi-fast. There used to be a third non stop but that was due to be removed before Covid. The change was made to try and increase capacity with in the absence of new tracks.… -
Re: The overnight news that has made me most angry – politicalbetting.com
I recall pointing out that a solution was unnecessarily complicated in a design meeting once. I was fairly junior at the time, so it was possibly a bit out of turn, but I felt it needed to be said. My concerns were of course summarily dismissed by the senior consultants. 2 years later the plug was pulled and £100m had to… -

Re: The Pension Triple lock abolition looks brave – politicalbetting.com
It's an interesting question. French Vietnamese constitute a bit over half a percent of the population - so British Indians are about five times as numerous. Partly cultural assimilation, perhaps? Tends historically to be more complete in France - and the Vietnamese immigrants will have tended to be of the upper rather… -
