How many times can this administration flunk the airport decision?
The NHS has been in crisis for at least forty of my fifty five years. The nature of the crisis varies, but it's always in a crisis.
NHS employees seem to have trouble understanding that a public service that has literally infinite demand is always going to be in crisis, irrespective of funding levels (which this year amounts to £116 billion, rising to £133 billion in 2020). We're spending about 15.5% of our entire budget on health.
PS Get well soon Harry!
I suppose blaming Labour is the next logical step in not taking responsibility.
Expanding Heathrow even further is an economic, transport, and political disaster.
Are you sure ?

FFsake.
Kinson South, Coal Aston, Market Harborough and Blantyre will be nice to see.
They are adamant it is the envy of the world.
I believe the phrase is ROFLMAO.
What is the delay blamed on trying to conform to the Paris 2015 conference on climate change, trying to blame motorists driving VW diesel cars on the M25. Or is it just that Cameron wants to pretend that Goldsmith still has a chance of winning an election as Mayor of London? There comes a point when the infrastructure failings can't be shifted onto Labour's shoulders.
We are the builders, but only if when the electoral cycle allows.
Heathrow is already bloated beyond workability, and the biggest problem with air travel is getting on and off the plane, getting on the plane often takes hours. Heathrow is a monument as to why you should never concentrate all transport in one single point, it leads to a huge mess with everyone being displeased and late.
Just imagine the numbers of people already trying to get to Heathrow and pass through the terminals to get to their flight, with an expansion the already big transport problem is going to get even bigger, it will need bigger motorways, bigger car parks, even bigger terminals, in the end most of west London and it's suburbs will need to be demolished to make way for Heathrow.
Imagine if the whole of the country was serviced by a single airport? It would be a disaster.
It reminds me of a communist joke about making giant products.
"Did I? I can't remember.
I'm surprised I wasn't in favour of seeing Borehamwood demolished.
Yes, you did.
It was a few years ago to be fair (late 2012 iirc).
The flattening of Borehamwood was all part of my cunning plan.
To summarize.
It was to place the new airport to the south of the M25 and between the M1 and A1.
Rail spurs off to the fast lines to Kings X at Potters Bar and Euston at Watford.
He should ignore commission and say yes to Gatwick, without public funding. Then say Heathrow can follow but not until air quality in London obeys law. Heathrow is a monopoly and we Tories don't do monopolies.
While OGH frolics with his honeytrap at the Russian Embassy, I'm just back from Sleeping Beauty at the Michaelovsky Theatre in St Petersburg. Ballet isn't really my scene but it was fun to experience it in context. The house was entirely sold out, seemingly with ordinary Russians mostly dressed as though they'd come from work for a pleasant evening out. On to Moscow tomorrow. (I'm here for some animal welfare meetings but taking the opportunity to do a bit of cultural stuff.)
Russia is quite remarkably cheap at the moment, suggesting an abnormally depressed currency - my hotel (Ibis - pleasant, modern and fairly central) is £23/night, the taxi from the airport was £8 for a 45 minute drive, a good two-course lunch was £3. Presumably this is a side-effect of the collapse of the oil price.
How many people are visiting their GP with cold or flu at this time of year though ?!
Welcome back Socrates!
Difficult to work out the "correct" choice, everyone has a dog in the game.

And on the funding point, we spend a lower % of GDP on health than many similar countries.
He has been grumpy, accusing, defensive, sulky.
Even if everything he says is as it has been, he has proven himself inadequate for the role. A real case of when the tide goes out...
Hope you're feeling better now.

Kings Cross to Heathrow Terminal 2 - Piccadilly Line 68 minutes (including the walk).
And, to declare an interest, my least favourite sister-in-law lives in Horley.
If the Tories achieve just one thing between now and 2020 it should be the gross diminution of the televisual arm of the Guardian.
Edit: 42 minutes sounds very optimistic too. GEX alone is 30.

For myself I have no time for Olympics or World Cups. The graft is there for all to see and has been for years and Athletics which is the major part of Olympics is just a contest between chemists these days.
Why pay it any attention?
The reason is money and a ready supply of that comes from the TV companies who hype the banal to ludicrous heights.
And even cricket which is riddled with betting scams is becoming pointless as 'proper' cricket is taken over by 50 and 20 over games.

The main reason I would delay a decision is that Heathrow, although convenient for some now, has not evolved into in a suitable place for the future. Just how to move on from this position is quite an intractable one and would repay a second look.
WIndmills have a marginal cost of nearly zero. Meanwhile the Westminster morons are building a new Nuclear Plant. It will be subsidised by your bills. Just not separately - it will be subsidised by increasing your unit cost. Massively.
Windmills are simply a no brainer. Whether ACC is real or not, the economics are simply better for windmills, the long term unit cost massively better.

The largest farm at Whitelee is built on an uninspiring, bleak moorland already crossed by a major motorway. It is not a place tourists used to go - although I understand it now gets some tourism. To see the big windmills.

Even from this side of the Midlands getting to Gatwick is hardly any longer than going to Heathrow, and a better experience while there. There is little to choose between them as far as I am concerned.
I hope Murray gets SPTY.
tomorrow to deliver the figures?
With an 8 per cent swing from Labour to SNP!
They will report "SNP Health Service misses targets on waiting lists". They won't compare to rest of the UK. They might mention comparison to last year.
