Donald Trump’s statement about stopping Muslims from entering the US has been widely condemned both in America and round the world. In the UK David Cameron has joined those attacking the current GOP front runner and possibly the next President.

New client staked £1000 to be candidate at 5/2,& £1000 to be President, 9/2, on Donald Trump in a Hill's Cambridgeshire shop today. #Trump
He's a very clever chap who plays the media like the Devil's Fiddle. He doesn't want the drudge of POTUS and all the limitations it entails.
Unfortunately, the more outrageous he becomes - the more the polls move in his favour.
As such they equate entirely English concepts such as an Established church as being British concepts. They are not.
The United Kingdom has no established church and the institutions of society should change to reflect that. A ban on
Indoctrination campsfaith schools would be a good start. The SNP could do this in Scotland and their cowardice on the issue is very poor.FPT: I don't see why not; when many PBers have mentioned the site's changes several times in recent months. I don't see why I should reject their views, but yet accept your assessment of PB.
ZZZ
That's criminal.
I could swear Ive seen a similar phenomenon else where.....give me a minute...it'll come to me....
One thing for sure, the man is on a massive ego trip. Anyone who doesn't think he wants to be president is kidding themselves. POTUS is still the most powerful position in the world.

"Trump warned that unless all Muslims were excluded from the United States, the country faced catastrophic baldness and terrorism.
He added: “My greatest fear is that if we allow them to stay here and breed then something even worse will happen to my hair.
“Have you ever seen a bald Muslim? No, you haven’t. They all have fantastic, thick hair because they use their magic to steal our hair."
The fact several GOPers criticised him straight away tells you Trump's jumped a new shark.
Then plonking down £2500 on Trump once he's won the nomination.
http://www.theverge.com/2015/12/7/9869308/donald-trump-close-up-the-internet-bill-gates
"We're losing a lot of people because of the internet," Trump said. "We have to see Bill Gates and a lot of different people that really understand what's happening. We have to talk to them about, maybe in certain areas, closing that internet up in some ways. Somebody will say, 'Oh freedom of speech, freedom of speech.' These are foolish people."
If Trump gets the nomination, I can see someone like Bloomberg running as an Independent.
Edit: Has a 50/1 shot ever been a winner in a US Presidential race?
Has he blown up any airliners?
Has he enslaved girls from a slightly different sect?
No, no, and no again!
I can't put a convincing argument together to justify odds lower than 33/1 for POTUS & 10/1 for the NOM.
Still, I guess I missed a trick not foreseeing & then riding the trump surge. Perhaps his odds have further to fall?
I won't be betting on a phenomenon I don't understand.

Lay (Bet Against)
Donald Trump 7.56 £58.00 £380.20
I have changed my mind a few times on the Donald...
He is my best result currently, due to Hills laying me £10 at 28-1 for the nomination mainly.
Why would you put him at ~ 10-1 for the nomination ?
Or even better off not betting at all.
If said punter is lurking on PB, please do get in touch. I have a very special offer on some magic beans.
If you have to explain it, you're not trolling...
"Any American who is even vaguely considering supporting Donald Trump needs to be certified insane. What a piece of utter bastardry."
Do these people have any idea of the way their smarmy arrogance is received by ordinary people? What an utter twonk!
@RuthDavidsonMSP: So, twitter, we're all agreed? Trump's a clay-brained guts, knotty-pated fool, whoreson obscene greasy tallow-catch, right?
Joking apart, its an atrocious article from Toby Young - I'm surprised the Sun published it - it used to have far higher standards of writing - this comes across as a teenage stream of consciousness rant - he even tries to drag in Labour's 'open door' immigration policies as a factor in the decline of christianity - all those Catholic Poles aren't Christian too? Or is it only British born christians that count?

After the fight had finished.
I wonder what attracted the narrow little nationalist to Trump?

Deborah Morgan, an unfulfilled stay-at-home mother of three, says she joined ISIS to “get out of the house.” And while she is grateful to “The All Comprehending One” for “the opportunity to crush the infidels,” she admits she underestimated the flexibility required for waging a global holy war.
“Uh-uh — no way I am working through the break. You know how hard it was to get these John Oates tickets?” said Morgan, who pledged her undying allegiance to ISIS after reading a few memes on social media. “Normally I would say ‘In shaa Allah,’ but this is the talented half of ‘Hall and Oates’ we’re talking about here. And I still have to finish all of my shopping and gift wrapping,” she added, visibly overwhelmed by all she has to get done before her martyrdom.
Surprisingly, not every sleeper is flustered with the last-minute changes. One extremist, Glenn Dansby, is looking forward to his fiery death and highly touted carnal pleasures of the thereafter.
“Yeah, but it has nothing to do with my devotion to Islam or ISIS,” said Dansby, looking around nervously. “I’m stuck spending Christmas with my in-laws.”
The spewing of the endless unintelligible right-wing bile from Plato and her ilk is why quite a few people have left this site. However, I do believe in people articulating what they believe in (even if it makes little sense) so my advice to The Apocalypse is just ignore her posts.
Back on-topic: The lack of depth of most Americans is why Trump is still in the game. 9/2 is a snip in my opinion.

Speaking to a regular media briefing in Westminster, Mr Cameron's official spokeswoman declined to say whether Mr Trump's comments might lead to him being barred from entry to the UK under hate-speech laws.

As for the claim that she did so a couple of weeks ago, it does seen risible, given that she was happy to sign a round robin letter on Novemeber 26th, and STW had also linked to her opposition at last Wednesday's debate. She could have given BBC Question Time a big scoop had she stepped away from STW during a TV programme.
Perhaps the opportunity to embarass Corbyn was too good to miss.
Personally I'm finding the whole right/left thing increasingly clumsy. I think you and I are probably very similar in our attitudes to social issues though our language might differ.
I am, however, super-dry fiscally. I think Osborne is a raging socialist who is doing a great deal of lasting harm to our economy. It's tragic that I literally have no alternative. He is the best man for the job, which speaks volumes for the paucity of political talent in this country.

The closest this Leeds MP has come to a tete-a-tete with industry leaders is a letter from the CBI, who’ve asked for a meeting. However, Burgon appears to be in no hurry to acquiesce. A spokesman from the confederation admitted that coffee “has yet to be set up.”

The party went on the offensive after a Tory “Who is Sadiq Khan?” video, criticising him over his Heathrow stance, union links and support for Jeremy Corbyn, led to a string of offensive comments on Facebook.
Labour also hit out at a Tory four-page newspaper that condemns Mr Khan as a “divisive and radical” politician.
Shadow employment minister Emily Thornberry said: “London is the most diverse and tolerant city in the world but Goldsmith and the Tories are running a divisive and dog-whistling campaign - trying to turn London’s communities against each other.”
A source close to Mr Khan branded the Tory campaign as “coded racist”.

Funny how we don't here the same in regards to banning genuine hate preachers, just when it is the nasty right wingers like Trump and Geert Wilders.
(Or should that be wiff-waff?)
Oh Labour, where have all your people with real political heft gone? It's come to a pretty pass when Margaret Beckett is probably one of your titans.

Her tweet to Jim Murphy during the election summed up her awesomeness.
It's this sort of nastiness - straight out of the Lutfur Rahman playbook - that makes him totally unsuitable to be Mayor of London, and a sign of things to come if he wins.
A few observations from the last elections in Nov 2012:
Very low tern out, possibly because they where new and people did not fully understand, but I think also because there where no other elections on the same day, and being November it was cold and that may have deterred some people from voting.
The smaller party's, UKIP, LibDem and Green, did not contest all of the seats, 24,24 and 1 respectfully.
Independents did remarkably well, (compated to other elections) getting to the best 2 'run off' in 16 and winning 11.
Possible predictions for next time.
Higher tern out, especially as there will be locals elections in some of the places on the same day.
Miner party's more likely to put up more candida's, especially UKIP, in an attempt to show the parties Vitality.
This May Ironically take some votes for the independents, so more votes could come down to 'Con V Lab' in the 'Run Off'
This will allow each of the 2 big party's to gain some seats, and therefore clamed a victory of sorts. But the Power of incumbency will still have some effect and some of the currant independents will remain.
Because there will be more 'Con V Lab' Some of the Corbynistars will be shocked to discover that not everybody who voted other that Con in the first round automatically votes for Lab as second preference. But rather than sit down to think and analyse why that is, they will just declare everybody to be 'Tory Scum'
