    Michael Gove, Tim Montgomerie and Dominic Raab are all people that are practical people that know sometimes you need to bank some wins and then fight for the rest in future. The Peter Bones of the world are people that just like to be purists divorced from the actual practicalities of governance, always being in opposition so they never have to make the necessary compromises.

    Under the backstop, the entire UK gets to control immigration, exit the CAP and CFP, exit ECJ rule, sign our own trade deals, control all our critical service industries and have a Brexit without any economic crash. The hardliners would rather crash out and cause Jeremy Corbyn returning us to the 70s on steroids than accept a 90% win.
