Nicholas Parsons is taking a couple of days off it seems. 94 and still going strong though. When I was at school (and perhaps still now) there was a prominent graffiti written on our school wall - 'Nicholas Parsons is the neo-opiate of the people'. I can't really imagine who wrote such a thing - it's pretty damn sophisticated as graffiti goes. I think though it's rather swayed me against him - that, and a certain smugness and grandeur on 'sale of the century'. However as I reflect I realise he's an enormously nice chap. I wish him all the best.
So do I. I was at school with his daughter and was treated by his son when he was training to be a doctor. He was cock a hoop at having correctly diagnosed my TB. I was rather less so.
If Theresa does fall because of the customs union vote, who replaces her? Javid? He's a hard Brexit supporter. I'm not sure the traitor wing have thought this through very well, I guess their blind allegiance to Brussels is clouding their thinking.

He's an Osbornite who backed Remain (at some cost). Don't be fooled by his recent positioning.

His recent positioning was supporting remain, he has always been a huge leaver but decided not to piss off his boss who was set to become PM in the event of a remain victory.

Even if a hard Brexit PM replaces May, so what? There still won’t be the parliamentary votes for hard Brexit.

Then the traitors need to ask themselves if it's worth risking a Corbyn government to continue serving their EU masters. Some are so far gone they may say yes, I expect other will fall in line.
The only thing that makes me question that conclusion is it is hardly just remainers who are running riot due to her indecisiveness - the hardcore Tory Brexiters have been flapping about at least as much as any hardcore Tory remainers, surely?
Its human nature to always view the others as the ones running riot not yourselves. Its like what Yes [Prime] Minister's Wolley called 'irregular verbs'. I'm campaigning for what we need to do, you're rebelling against the whip, they're running riot.
Remain had a bigger lead than that in some polls on eve of Referendum and the 13% don't knows make all the difference given wrong to leave is still under 50%
Did they also ask if there should be a people's vote on the final deal. The same thing of course but Campbell, Umunna and Soubry's rebranding might affect opinion?
I expect some will try but I doubt there would be a majority to send it back. The government would be well within its rights to then send 500 new temporary peers to the upper house and ram through all legislation.
They'd need legislation to create the category of temporary peer.
Further to our discussion the other day after the Muslim Council for Britain called for an inquiry into Islamophobia, as well as ex party chair Baroness Warsi and Conservative peer Lord Sheikh. The Conservative Muslim forum has now also called for an inquiry in an open letter to the prime minister.
Presumably a Corbyn inspired move from a crank organisation in the grip of extremists who can't differentiate valid criticism of Islam with prejudice....

Has Javid's weathercock gone for service ? Surely, this Remainer can judge the strength of the breeze and which way it is blowing by sticking up a wet finger.
Courts take VERY dim views of those seeking to pervert the course of justice....
I think this is very serious for Manafort, and potentially pretty bad for Trump.
Trump can't pardon Manafort if he's done for witness tampering (unless he's a total idiot), but by not pardoning his friends, he makes it easier for others to "roll".
If Manafort has any sense he'll plead guilty across the board now, so that these offences don't get the airtime they deserve. Trump can then pardon him in the Autumn.
This is what appeasing the EU gets you. As I have said for months (years?) if May sells out in the final deal the electoral blowback will be horrific. UK public will not stand for humiliation at the hands of the EU and the Remainers. Hard Brexit is the only way she can maintain the support she already has.
Actually, they're exactly as Europhilic. Please ignore my earlier post.
They don't seem to link data in the release - it would be interesting to see the (small) subsamples for fringe right and fringe left voters. It looks almost the exact same left/right split in support for Europe as the UK.
Can someone tell the Chief Whip he sounds like a Thickie by saying 'again reiterate'. That's what 'reiterate means' - you don't need the prefix 'again'.

Fuck'em.
On another note, looking forward to the 12th June vote! Hard to see the government coming out of it without sustaining severe collateral damage.
Do the headbangers have enough votes?
Those traitors...

Brexit RIP.
As ever, stick to copying people who are smarter than you. Original thinking isn't your strength.
They voted against the Tory manifesto when they rebelled against Maastricht, something that was explicit in the 1992 manifesto.
May: 38 (+1)
Corbyn: 27 (-)

What about interest rates then ?
30 years after the Labour Party did it.
