Paddy Power have a market up on a theoretical Newton Abbot by election were Ann Marie Morris resign following her use of the n word. I’m not playing this market, I suspect all stakes will become an interest free loan to Paddy Power for nearly six month and I’ve got better things to do with my money.

    Firstly, it's not going to happen. Suspension of the whip is standard procedure to punt it into the long grass until everything blows over - Corbyn did exactly the same with Naz Shah last year.

    Secondly, even if it did then the anti-Tory vote would be split between Lib Dem (who held the equivalent seat until 2010 and have a fairly strong local government base) and Labour.
