One of the features of living in a super LAB-CON marginal less than an hour from London that regularly changes hands is that you get a lot of attention at general elections. Corbyn’s first big outside visit after the election was called in April was to Bedford which was a regular port of call by David Cameron and earlier LAB leaders at GE10 and GE15.

    There were certainly some 2015 Tory voters who did not want to give May a mandate for hard Brexit and voted LD or Labour or abstained and some 2015 Tory voters who wanted to stop the dementia tax and voted Labour however I would argue neither of these voters expected or wanted a Corbyn premiership. The last general election put a stop to Tory hubris however Labour must be careful not to replace it with hubris of their own
