    I think Mike has missed one important aspect here. Whilst most people, including yours truly, are in favour of wind farms as such, many of us are opposed to the seemingly randomly positioned one-off turbines which seem to sprout up everywhere - certainly here in West Yorkshire you seem to see them around every corner, plonked in a field, such that I had assumed they had been positioned in such a way to meet the local farmer's own electricity requirements.
