The Tories fight against lobbying by choosing the world`s biggest lobbyist as their media advisor...Brillianttttt
Be fair. It's not as if Cammie made a huge deal out of lobbying being the next big scandal and then proceeded to make it a self-fulfilling prophecy.
David Cameron said commercial lobbying was 'the next big scandal waiting to happen'
Three months before becoming Prime Minister last year, David Cameron said commercial lobbying was ‘the next big scandal waiting to happen’.
It had ‘tainted our politics for too long’ and was ‘an issue that exposes the far-too-cosy relationship between politics, government, business and money’.
Interestingly, Porton Capital, a firm which wanted a defence-related favour, got in touch with Liam Fox’s pal Adam Werritty through a group of commercial lobbyists called Tetra Strategy.
One of Tetra’s lobbyists is Julie Kirkbride, the former Conservative MP who had to stand down over exorbitant expenses claims made for her and then Tory MP husband Andrew MacKay’s housing
The membership decline seems to date from when Mr Clegg became leader, so whatever it is he does, LDs don't seem to like it. (the overspending coincides with his election too.)

What's ukip membership on ? it will be funny if the cross over comes about ;-)

And Crosby works for the Tories for one day a week...What does he do for the rest of the week?He lobbies on behalf of everyone including tobacco companies, private healthcare companies and fracking firms...Looks like Cammie has exceeded himself in the BS department here!
I just read Richard Dodd's comments about his treatment at the hands of Welsh people in Wales.
I find that difficult to believe. What part of Wales did that happen in?
I obviously can't defend Welsh people across the board but every English person who lives round here is treated just like anyone else. Three of my wife's friends have married Englishmen; they are now really good friends of ours. Two of them went on rugby tour with us. They wear their English rugby shirts to our rugby club on Wales v England match days - they are great guys. After Wales won the final 6N game the one guy (Danny) had the Welsh 'three feathers' tattoed on his arse after losing a bet with his wife. All good-humoured fun. To suggest there is some bitter or visceral anti-Englishness going on in Wales is crap.
Incidentally, the Sri Lankan's (Tamil's too!) who run the local newsagents moved to the UK 13 years ago and spent the first 12 years in London. The guy in there says that now he lives in Wales he regrets not moving here directly 13 years ago! He found London an intensely unfriendly place. Something I agree with.

Michael Crick @MichaelLCrick 25 Jul According to a good Conservative source, party membership was just 133,000 at the end of 2012, + has probably fallen to c.100,000 since then
Lib Dem + Con + UKIP membership = < Labour membership.
The tories need a drive for new members or they will die as a party, the tories signed they death warrant when Britain joined the EU in my opinion.
How can the tories recruit new members ?
A suggestion ,why not let the members have votes on tory policies ;-)
Boy oh Boy, you can see the Trots are scared of Mr Crosby, from just tonight on this thread. Given Crosby Texter is a strategy adviser who makes its serious money from smart research, trying to promote him as a lobbyist is just plain bonkers as its not true and the voters dont know who he is.
He's only one day a week at the moment for the tories. What damage will he cause labour when he goes full time in 2014?

Fallen for Milli's made up slur. You must be smart.

I wonder who was in charge for most of that last decade.
Oh that's right, he did.
Well at least it's only fracking, tobacco and alcohol and not anything else. Ah well. Cammie is only a second rate Blair impersonator after all.

If you haven't seen it, make sure you do.
As someone who has been totally underwhelmed by films this past 15 years, Man on Fire is one of the finest I've seen.
Take my (slightly drunk) word for it. Hic.

If only Sunny could be as funny and satirical as that.
