I have invented a new electoral system. Second-Past-The-Post. Exactly the same as First-Past-The-Post, except that the candidate with the second largest number of votes wins. It would be interesting for tactical voting.

The further swing of 8% to SNP from a high point in 2012 equates to a 20% swing compared to previous 2011 results which is less than some others.
Labour losing Blantyre would be like Tories losing Witney.
Nov poll had SNP at 54% with Lab and Tories making up numbers. LibDems no longer even worth considering outside Orkney and Shetland and Carmichael will have an effect there too.

Lab continue (with MSM trumpeting) to go SNP bad on everything even when they are at fault such as with not building a 2nd Forth Bridge as promised after environmental pressure made them drop idea.
Some honesty and a mea culpa that they should have built it years ago but wimped out might make people stop laughing at them as a potential alternative government to Sturgeon and her team.

The loss by UKIP follows the pattern that has occurred continually since the GE. Has their bubble burst?
