I honestly can't fathom why people think David Miliband would be a decent PM - yet I've heard it from quite a few fairly apolitical people. Is it just that he looks slightly more normal than Ed ?

they haven't thought about it imo - just heard someone say it on the telly once

    Cameroon are woeful.

Worst team in the world cup I've seen so far.

    @Pulpstar

I'll admit to not having heard of them until today - proof their ludicrous marketing is working!

@TSE - you are a leftie at heart, admit it. You are a touchy-feely guy. Let's hope Ed is the Comeback Kid eh? :

I worked out that picking Cameroon in the office sweepstake effectively made my £2 stake worth 7 pence.

    I think that was generous.

    All of yous.

Read this, explains French Military History, they are worse than the Italians.

    Yorktown?
    Austerlitz?
Plus you need to look at the fact that Charles Martel stopped the Moorish conquest at Tours, that Charlemagne was a pretty nifty warrior. Both should be considered French.
There's also Solferino, 1859, against the Austrians

The idea is he is better is bollocks. David Cameron is the best leader of the Labour Party.

    Extraordinary:

"The UK satellite company Inmarsat has told the BBC that the search for the missing Malaysia Airlines jet has yet to go to the area its scientists think is the plane's most likely crash site.
Inmarsat's communications with the aircraft are seen as the best clues to the whereabouts of Flight MH370."

if its true as alleged that D Miliband was responsible for closing the foreign office library, then that does not bode well for his character.

That could have been one of the funniest red cards in years - was definitely an attempt at a head butt there.

I think it has more to do with the fact that David Miliband was the 'other' brother in the Labour Leadership contest, that and the fact that he has never ever actually been tested in the role of Leader of party.

It's a little quiet here tonight.
  • Just backed Chile to win the World Cup, 25/1 (with bet365)

Well I backed Chile at 50 with Betfair (46.5/1 net) just 10 days ago so there!
This wasn't as a result of my own brilliant footy forecasting but rather as a result of watching this video clip from the fragrant Ms Rachel Riley:

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/worldcup2014/article-2649499/Rachel-Riley-crunches-numbers-ahead-World-Cup-tips-Chile-lift-trophy.html

I even comfortably beat her suggested odds of 40/1, but then she is working for Ladbrokes!
