    We all make mistakes.

However, that's quite a big one (or two, as you will). Proofreading's the most hateful part of writing, but it's important to do it. Quite surprised this wasn't caught, given there can't have been that much text to check.

I know it's said "vote early and vote often"... but three weeks seems to be pushing it.

I think three weeks is impossible. I'm sure my postal vote is due to arrive about May 9th (not at home so can't check).

Iirc time was when general elections took place over a few weeks. People followed result updates in the newspapers.

Maybe UKIP are holding a Mock Election on May 2nd to get their supporters in practise for the real thing?
  • NickPalmerNickPalmer Posts: 21,564
That's well weird. I did have a very indignant, highly literate constituent complain yesterday that he'd not yet have his polling card for "next week's election". But the parties really should know better.

Continuing the anecdotes from the last thread, my former secretary lives in Moorgreen, a villagey estate a couple of miles north of the town of Kimberley. She's never neen able to persuade BT to offer broadband of any kind. She is currently taking a holiday in Madagascar, where she reports that the tourist hut has high-speed broadband - she sends a picture of herself cheerily zip-lining across a jungle. Never mind rule from Brussels, I think she'd be open to government by Madagascans.

The Romans used to vote by tribe, I think. This gave some more power, as they could set the terms of the contest (imagine if we voted 10% at a time, and after the first tenth it was Lib Dems 45%, UKIP 50%. It'd dramatically alter how others voters).

Could be wrong, my knowledge of Roman voting's almost as ropey as Mr. Eagles' comprehension of the Second Punic War.

Are we sure the Kippers are referring to the same election?

I will vote on May 2 and hope I am the only one. That way, I choose the winner.

Mr. Isam, ah. That does change things a bit. Ahem.

Youtube says this thread's video was published 23 Apr 2013.

    Exactly one year ago today.

You can see where the confusion came from.

Are UKIP standing in Wales? WE had a Welsh Labour Party PEB all about how the CONDEMS have left us all £1700 a year worse off and how the Labour party will freeze energy prices

What has that got to do with Europe?

We all make mistakes. Last year I made rather a lot in the first half of the season especially.

We could always talk about my brilliant spotting that the Mercedes drivers' results exactly match those of last year so far.

Looking at the last two threads it seems UKIP supporters are going to be told to go to the polling station on the wrong day and hoodwinked into voting for the wrong party if they manage to get there!

It's like wacky races with OGH as Dick Darstadly!
