You have taken Ferrari's assertion out of context. Don't forget Ferrari is a massive cheerleader for the Conservatives, although perhaps he would prefer someone other than Kemi leading the party.

If you listen to Kemi she manages to repeat the right wing theme that "Adolescence" is a disingenuous depiction of a real event (an event where the perpetrator isn't white) and Adolescence doesn't address Islamic radicalisation.

I haven't seen it either, but then I am not the Prime Minister in waiting.
She should watch it and then grill the PM on the details of the programme at PMQs.

What are you flapping about - it's just the tool for the job sometimes.

And you don't balance it between 2 plates, just have a decent set of scissors that can cut on a flat surface. I also cut down spaghetti in the colander with scissors if I need shorter lengths - so there.

Pizzas are NOT a wheel, instead a long chef's knife, or a herb chopper.

It would be funny. I was thinking that there might be a few more talking points about education in general and handling adolescent boys and girls.

"President Vladimir Putin has called up 160,000 men aged 18-30, Russia's highest number of conscripts since 2011, as the country moves to expand the size of its military."

    and:

"Vice Adm Vladimir Tsimlyansky said the new conscripts would not be sent to fight in Ukraine for what Russia calls its "special military operation"."

It really is an excellent programme, with the 3rd episode being outstanding from the 2 main actors.

I though episode 2 was not realistic. A school after that sort of murder would have more media interest, and the kids more subdued.

Off topic: Some details on the two Florida special elections today: https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2025/04/01/florida-special-elections-republicans-randy-fine/

After reading that article, I would place a bet on the Democrat candidate in the 6th district, Josh Weil, at 10-1 odds. The Republican candidate, Randy Fine, is not impressive.

(If the Wikipedia article is correct, the voter registration is surprisingly close, 39%D to 41% R. But you should check that before making any bets.)

The bit at the beginning was quite revealing about how he sees politics as a branch of the media.

"The fact that she hasn't even watched it - I think - is potentially huge."
    Pb.com has done it too.

I remember once there was a thread on here about how Boris should be terrified that during the 2019 election campaign he didn't attend a televised debate and Channel 4 replaced him with a block of ice as a gimmick.

(I won't swear to the details but it was something like that).

It made not the slightest detectable difference to the polls or his subsequent landslide.

The media doesn't matter anything like as much as the media thinks the media does.

Joe Biden sanctioned an invasion of the United States. We have approximately 20 million illegal aliens in this country. Their victims are measured in longer wait times for hospitals, overwhelmed schools, and murder victims the media largely ignored.

The media has deteremined the real victims are the gang members we're trying to get out of the country.

Exactly. The point isn't whether she has watched it but that she stupidly agreed with a conspiracy theory that's being used to discredit it by the kinds of manosphere groups that the show exposes. She couldn't bring herself to just say she hasn't seen it but felt the need to make a cheap point against the PM.

20 million illegal immigrants so about 6% of the total US population. That would be the equiavalent of about 4 million in the UK - does anyone think we have 4 million illegal immigrants?

I suppose the better question is does anyone actually know how many illegal immigrants there are in the UK?

Back in late 2019, the Pew Report claimed a number between 800,000 and 1.2 million in 2017 so where that would be now I've no clue. To quote the BBC report from that time:

Pew's definition of an "unauthorised" migrant is anyone living in a country without a residency permit. Some politicians would refer to the same group of people as "illegal migrants". Others use the phrase "undocumented migrants".

Here are some examples of who could be counted:

a temporary worker who stays on after their visa has expired.

someone who has paid a smuggler to help them enter the country

someone who has sought asylum and had their case rejected

The State Department is linking tariffs in the UK on the prosecution of an anti abortion free speaker at Poole magistrates court. In 2023 the soon to be Labour Government prosecuted a woman holding an (passive aggressive) placard outside an abortion clinic.

Vance is clearly very exercised at Labour's clampdown on his version of free speech.

Why not invade and install Nigey as titular PM?

This is like a creepy Alien Invasion movie from the 90s. If the US don't wake up soon there's going to be civil war.

Here's a recent Pew Report on illegals in the US: https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2024/07/22/what-we-know-about-unauthorized-immigrants-living-in-the-us/

How accurate is it? Probably within 1 or 2 million in my opinion. (It is difficult to estimate anything illegal.)

It would be an astonishing result if the Dems won Florida 6 . Both Florida seats went heavily for the GOP last time .

I think more attention is on the Wisconsin Supreme Court race which will decide whether the court keeps its more Liberal majority.
