Was wandering round Central London and followed a Greek Cypriot protest against The Turkish invasion of the northern part of the island. Then wandered into a pub.Could have been a bit hairy staggering out of the pub fancying a kebab, eyeing up the Turkish kebab shop, then the Greek kebab shop and then seeing the reaction from the crowd whilst weaving between the two options trying to judge who to give your trade to.

I see our crowd of patriots are inviting a foreign billionaire to incite the overthrow of our government and threaten "violence is going to come to you."
Makes you proud to be British.

Musk speaks at the protest via video link. What a world we live in.This fuckwit needs to focus on his businesses and not supporting these scumbags

In this case it's exacerbated by the fact they wrap themselves in the Union Flag.
Weird bit of whataboutery. When I cycle along and see all the litter in the verges it makes me feel embarrassed to be Scottish, even though the issue is significantly worse in India. It's to do with a sense of national pride, particularly when it trashes somewhere like the Highlands. We're supposed to be better than this.Genuine question, why did it make you embarrassed to be British? This sort of shit, and often worse, happens all over the world, in France, Germany, Sweden, the crazy activities in the US.I remember when Tommeh brought his scumbag EDL to my city. Much of it shut down and closed early, and I was on call. I wandered into town to see it for myself. There was a small Unite Against Facism counter demonstration.https://x.com/metpoliceuk/status/1966894521276371019?ref_src=twsrc^tfw|twcamp^tweetembed|twterm^1966894521276371019|twgr^9b45582bfea6d04c22feb5ca23b3da22f79ce0f0|twcon^s1_&ref_url=https://www.theguardian.com/politics/live/2025/sep/13/uk-politics-latest-news-unite-the-kingdom-march-far-right-rally-london-labour-keir-starmer?page=with3Ablock-68c585348f084b3c85a4e2b4Tommeh's fans attacking police. Met Pol now issuing campaign tactical maps.
It was a weird and threatening atmosphere as the EDL broke through into the sidestreets and rampaged through the city chanting racist slogans and intimidating the few people out on the streets, banging on the windows of shops with people trapped inside. Fortunately there were few casualties.
Vile people, made me embarrassed to be British.
Do we have some inherent moral make up that makes us “better” than foreigners so that we alone should not have far right violent people in our population?
I would get you being embarrassed to be a human but don’t get why you should feel embarrassed to be British, especially how on the large scale of things we are at the top of the table for inclusivity by surveys on that sort of thing.

That's exactly what meant. I am sure most countries have scum. But we seem to have more than our fair share of it.It's the other way round for me. I feel ashamed that these people are BritishBad enough in this country. I remember being in Magaluf. It was like going to a zoo without bars. And looking at the violent tattooed drunks aggressively staggering around the streets made me feel equally ashamed.I remember when Tommeh brought his scumbag EDL to my city. Are you one of those who would have agreed with Alan Clark that football hooligans were proud exponents of the British martial spirit? The left love being embarrassed to be British - it's the ultimate virtue signal. You may be surprised to find that quite a large majority of the population, left, centre or right, get painfully and unavoidably embarrassed when our compatriots make us look stupid. It has nothing to do with virtue signalling.

January 6th all over again. The Americans will pay a terrible price for failing to deal with that promptly and properly. Because of the consequential re-election of Trump the whole world is paying for that failure.Sounds like Musk is calling for the government to be overthrown by violent means. There’s still just over three months to go but I’m hoping to win 👍Post of the year! It’s rather sunny in North Durham. Although it did rain earlier and I had to get the washing in,If it's like the weather in Far East London, God has been doing His best.Tommeh's fans attacking police. A pretty shameful march. 100,000 fascists on the streets of London. Back to the days of Powell. If the Scots have any sense they'll have another go at independance.
