I’m just not convinced by Burnham .
His campaign was a greatest hits of tired predictable tropes . This change waffle and how the north had been so badly treated ad nauseam !
He neither has the money to do very much and will he actually stand up to Labour backbenchers ?
Will he be willing to annoy people and read the riot act ?
And the problem is that if Burnham fails to deliver the electorate are likely to be in an even more unforgiving mood .
To put the electorate through all this Labour psycho drama and end up with what they perceive as more broken promises will make current polling look great !
I hope Burnham can succeed even though I find his self-entitlement grating and he didn’t do the hard yards but has managed to engineer his way into the Commons with the expressed intent of getting rid of the PM within weeks , who regardless of what people think of him saved the Labour Party from more years in the wilderness.

He wants to be a Northern PM for Northern people, not just Southern ponces and that there LondonThat assumes that Burnham has the faintest idea what he wants to do as PM, let alone how to do it.He should be in a hurry. Time is ticking and every day counts to get things done before the next election.Starmer considers resigning. End of June bet still onTheoretically possible but not going to happen.
Burnham will let Starmer hit his second anniversary in July. He's not in a hurry and if it saves face and lets Starmer go with a bit of dignity, why not agree to that?
Shiny sixpence says that he doesn't.

I’ve heard on the grapevine that he’s renaming Downing Street to Coronation Street as it’s about time northerners felt they were properly represented. He wants to be a Northern PM for Northern people, not just Southern ponces and that there LondonThat assumes that Burnham has the faintest idea what he wants to do as PM, let alone how to do it.He should be in a hurry. The problem forHe is not Reeves and Burnham wants him in his tent not plotting on the backbencheshttps://x.com/GuidoFawkes/status/2068010625272340885What qualifications does Streeting have to be Chancellor?
Some rumours in Labour circles that Streeting will be Chancellor and Miliband will go to MHCLG.
Re: The cabinet are revolting – politicalbetting.com
It was reported in a few papers over the last couple of weeks. Chris Philp was absolutely shocked and disgusted.Presumably well documented on Twitter and Facebook accounts based in Russia. There are plenty of ways to get round that if you are desperate. Is there any evidence to back this up? The starting salary has to be a minimum of £41,700."Sean ThomasSomewhat concerning then that according to SeanT this Labour government has just granted the kebab and takeaway industry lots of new licenses to bring in workers from overseas and their dependents.

Are there any reliable UK reports of this being widespread rather than a rare event?
You wouldn't know till you'd got near the end of the articles that the licenses were awarded between 2021 and 2023.

Depending on Starmer's decision over the weekend, we might find out quite soon.https://x.com/GuidoFawkes/status/2068010625272340885The idea that Fawkes has any insight into Burnhams plans is risible!

I assume that this costs the employers time and money to do the paperwork and pay the fees to bring in someone on a visa, so why would they do that if there were available residents looking for work?Assistant Manager at Dominos gets you a skilled worker visa. Other factors may be greater, but this one is real too."Sean ThomasBy coincidence, my calendar's inspirational thought for the day is from PB's Leon. But he might be wrong about his daughter. A lot of entry level work in retail disappeared when high streets were boarded up, in catering when pubs and restaurants closed, and a lot of white collar entry level work has been given to AI (or at least, that's the excuse the PHBs give for not hiring). Tories will add that Labour's job taxes don't help by destroying negative differentials but if the jobs aren't there in the first place...

TfL are getting station attendants on work visas because they claim they can't recruit here. I mean, come on.
There seems to be a missing piece of information in the story.
