Indeed.I detest Soho. There are gay entertainment venues in Soho??! What is the world coming to.https://www.thenational.scot/news/25518686.bizarre-footage-shows-evangelical-group-black-uniforms-target-soho/Have we done Turning Point funded Christian fundamentalists protesting against gay entertainment venues in Soho yet?A link would be nice 😀
Soho is the worst place in London to get lost in. You’re never quite sure if you’re stepping into a high class restaurant or a brothel.
It really is frightening for someone as innocent as me.
I can only imagine your embarrassment at accidentally ending up in a high class restaurant.

We are just winding up our ruby wedding anniversary weekend. We had the weekend at Fonab, outside Pitlochry. Last night we had the tasting menu with a bottle of champagne bought by our kids. There were several outstanding dishes but the halibut was probably the best. Melted like butter with a delicious fish seafood bisque. £120 a head for the meal and worth every penny. You remember meals like that for a long time. The marriage hasn't been bad either. Many congratulations on your Ruby
With gold and diamond still to come
Enjoy your well deserved celebrations

I'm sorry if i was abrupt. But living near Heaton Park or Prestwich won't help you much if you are trying to find out which way the locals are thinking. Jews who live in that area are most likely to be ulra Orthadox of which even I would know nothing if it wasn't that my sister married one and now 12 children later and 70 or 80 nieces and nephews later I feel I undersatand their community and their very bizarre way they live their lives better than most. You couldn't be more wrongYou know fuck all about te Jewish community in Heaton Park or anywhere else. There were about four people who heckled Lammy and they were part of a faction of ethno nationalists I wouldn't want to touch with a bargepole. Not that I speak for the 'Jewish community' because it is as diverse as the 'Llandudno community' and doesn't think as one.Are you really saying the Jewish Community who heckled Lammy are graceless losers ?Which is part of the problem this government has had from the start. They haven't helped themselves, good heavens they haven't helped themselves, but the graceless heckling from the losers has been unprecedented.Give over. They didn't give him a chance; they were heckling him before he spoke. His words are only good if he is able to empathize with the vigil and those mourning and angry which he didn'tHis reception was bad, but what Lammy said, and how he delivered it in the situation, was good.Actually their joint meeting with the police and the public was well receivedWords are cheap.I note there has been an attack on a Mosque overnight"I asked a simple question at a pro-Palestine protest and it turned ugly"Marching this weekend, after what happened on Thursday, is absolutely disgusting. Shame on the marchers.

Matthew Syed talks to Palestine Action supporters, and it goes as expected.
Having read that article and others, I fear the problem is that, for many of the protestors, it is simply Palestinians=good, Israel=bad. The idea that Palestinians - and this includes Hamas - might have bad people or (heaven forfend!) be actually worse than Israel is anathema. Or worse: they accept that Hamas does bad things, but they're doing it in defence of Palestinians, which makes it okay.
We need strong government action as Andy Burnham and Kemi Bademoch jointly said last night in Manchester
Burnham has the capacity to do something about this Manchester wide, he is the Police Commissioner. Badenoch and her party were equally as ineffective as the current Government appears to be whilst in office.
Compare and contrast that to the reception Lammy received !!!!
A significant slice of the electorate and media have not got the government they wanted for the first time in nearly half a century. I shouldn't be surprised at how badly they have taken that, but I still am.
Starmer got the jobs of Labour leader and PM because the available alternatives were clearly worse. That still applies now; until it changes, we're stuck with him.
Words fail me
For the record the few who were heckling were heckling because like Netanyahu they don't believe in a two state solution They simply want a greater Israel.
For your information I was born within a few miles of Heaton Park, sheltering under a steel table from Hitlers bombs, one of which fell close to us killing 6 of our neighbours
We had a very active Jewish community near and everyone was terrified and horrified by the holocaust
As for your last sentence please provide your evidence, or are you just trying to downplay the fear of the Jewish community ?
And right now the leader labour need is speaking on Trevor Philips, Shabana Mahmood
Booing Lammy embarrassed my sister though she didn't hear it and it would have done to most who were there. The Elon Levi's and David Mensa's are nothing to do with them. They get on with their lives and their rituals and trying to involve them in Israeli and UK politics and use the booing of David Lammy is really unfair and misleading and I know they'll be embarrassed
I don't speak to them about Israeli politics because I like them and I don't want to fall out. The only thing I will say is that in my wider Jewish circle of friends there are more opposed to Netanyahu than support him. And by a distance

How fast is the planet warming right now?
By looking at daily decadal differences in temperature we get a rate of about 0.35°C per decade. However, the rate of warming itself is increasing and is forecast to reach 0.40°C per decade by the early 2030's.

Yet the Green party has spent the weekend seemingly talking about landlords and Gaza.

I tried to listen to the Kemi speech, but gave up after 3 words.This.
"Conservatives love Manchester."
The last time I recall them being there, Rishi Sunk shafted Manchester and the entire North by killing HS2, turning it into a £50bn branch line to Birmingham, then walked away with a smug smile on his face.
Fuck off, Kemi. You need to start by looking in the mirror. Then you might get a hearing.
One of the reasons for the rise of Reform, I suspect, is that the Tories talked about "levelling up" for a decade or more, and did the square root of fuck all about it.
I would be utterly astonished, though, if a future Reform government were to prove any different in that respect.

It's the Spoons beer festival at the moment. £2.15 for any pint of ale in our branch. Pick the strong ones and you can be sozzled for £6.45.At the same time a whisky at the Willow Tea Rooms in Glasgow costs £6, and that included two shortbread biscuits. It’s ridiculous. If this was a majorly famous 5 star hotel with a world class bar you could, perhaps, understandThe big news of the day is that last night ONE classic dry martini in my Culver City hotel bar, here in the heart of movie land, LA, California, cost me $36Hospitality prices in the US are out of control. We talked last week about the Ryder cup, a shitty beer was $20.
One!
Eating out and drinking out on a regular basis is becoming an activity for the rich, where as when I started going to the US it was so cheap it was stupid not to.
It’s a pretty hotel bar in a nicely refurbed historic art deco 4 star….
$36 for one drink
😶
It works better for my arthritis than codeine. That's my excuse anyway.

The Toriesand Labour both decided that rather than debate or compromise with their internal critics that they should tell them to piss off and join other parties. So they did and both parties are facing electoral oblivion. We saw in the welfare bill the futility of having a large cohort of MPs but without any unified agenda. The Tory Party has been utterly crippled as a parliamentary force by what are essentially entryists. I suspect the vast, vast majority will tow the line. Those that do not, can try their luck with the Lib Dems, and good luck to them. And so the Tory party moves from a large base of differing views but with a common aim to a limited set of people.Of course, but this is a great proxy issue for everything. A hardcore lib dem will not commit to leaving the ECHR.Er, in all seriousness, don't the Tories differ on other matters as well?Conservatives will be BANNED from standing as Tory candidates at the next general election unless they sign up to leaving the European Convention on Human Rights, Kemi Badenoch tells @CamillaTomineyThis is clever and exactly what she should be doing. It's a great way to unify the PCP.
Bozo removed all the people who thought the EU wasn’t awful, now Kemi is removing anyone who thinks simply fixes don’t work.
She’s shifting the party even further into irrelevance - while targeting Reform voters that will never vote Tory anyway
If Thatcher could tolerate Heath and Heseltine and Blair could tolerate Corbyn, why be so authoritarian?
