Is there another site I can follow the race for the White House 2028 upon?What’s irrational about saying Trump has undermined democracy? If you’re betting on 2028, you definitely need to consider how fair the vote is going to be.
It seems this board still loves Trump bashing; it reads like a Bluesky thread at the moment, and some of us want rational analysis not a circle-jerk.

It could precipitate mass emigration, for example to Florida or even Judea and Samaria. Together with the increasing antisemitism of the American right, as illustrated by the views of the Heritage Foundation and Tucker Carlson, the USA no longer appears to be the "Goldene Medina".
I guess we’re about to find out what happens when a finance capital elects someone who doesn’t believe in wealth or crime.
Hopefully his victory demonstrates that the racist political strategy of judging someone by their ethnicity or religion rather than their platform or character is dead.

Whilst Mamdami is from the other side of the political divide to me I was impressed by his victory speech. Very charismatic and hit all the right notes.
I think he could very well be an effective rallying poin t with profile required to attack Trump for the Dems - they’ve needed someone to coalesce around and whilst he will be too far left for many he will get the airtime with decent attacks.
Trump won’t like it being attacked from New York.

Unlike the one in the news today, the real Alan Bates I saw on ITV was a spitting image of the well known actor Toby Jones.Sir Alan Bates has received a multi million pound compensation settlement from the PO after his campaigning, as well as the knighthood he got from the KingCue grumbling about wealthy pensioners?

Any views on Council tax changes? One idea to increase Council tax on Band G and H properties by 100% seems a little heavy handed. Maybe a moderate increase for G and H now with a commitment to do a national Council tax revaluation within 3 years with extra bands at the top at the endLeave G and H as they are. But introduce bands I, J, K and L for more and more expensive properties.
The multipliers for bands G and H v Band D in England is currently 1.75 and 2.00 respectively . This could be moved closer to those which now apply in Scotland which are 2.00 and 2.40 ISH respectively, to raise some revenue now

Congratulations on marrying well.Done that already this year - but all I am doing is removing my books which Mrs Eek then instantly fills up again.Get rid of all the books that you know that nobody in the house will ever read again.I want space to be able to enter some of the rooms. Seriously we have bookshelves that are triple stacked and I've bought about 2 physical books in the last 8 years......I would need bookshelves along every wall in my house if the books on my Kindle were physically in the house...I'm not seeing the problem. How long have you had this perverse need to see your walls?...
