Another person who is finding out the FO part of FA&FO. The wife of a Conservative councillor has been jailed for 31 months after calling for hotels housing asylum seekers to be set on fire. Another option that has sometimes been put forward is for the House of Commons to be a single English Parliament and the House of Lords to be reconstituted as a general Assembly of a Federal United Kingdom. It might work, but again, making sure the revamped Lords was not invariably swamped by English members would be quite… -

This was my list: So a quick review and summary of all the changes we can expect: 'God Save the Queen' becomes 'God Save the King' New coins, banknotes and stamps to be issued in due course CiiiR postboxes to appear slowly QCs become KCs (fees to remain the same) Members of the House of Commons will be banned from wearing… -

I just installed a Tado system this weekend and can recommend it. Not sure if the deal is still on but I got the wireless starter kit and four connected radiator valves from Screwfix for £275. It’s genuinely great. I can control the heating in every room of the house separately apart from the bathroom (which is next to the… -

Finally got a bed at 6am, 20 hours after arrival. It’s a trolley bed, but it’s quite comfortable and has been pushed into an ED consulting room rather than a corridor. I was finally able to breathe relatively comfortably, lying on my right hand side, and get my first sleep since I woke at 5am yesterday Between midnight and… -

But PB has been claiming this for a decade. “Ooh you’re turning into Plato” “you’ve finally gone down the rabbit hole”. Blah blah blah it’s so fucking boring And still you keep saying it, perhaps even more persistently. But not because I’ve changed - because PB has got ever narrower and crabbier and stupider with only a… -

I think around a thousand or two houses have been evacuated. And that small number is why they'll keep on being built on the floodplain, and why making such houses more resilient is vital. It's nowhere near the crisis that the media have built it into, but the issues that it has highlighted are very important for the… -
Re: politicalbetting.com » Blog Archive » Nick Clegg’s ratings move from the negative to the positive
I'd agree with some of that in sentiment. Osborne has been an ordinary chancellor in extraordinary times. He has managed the cash bit ok in that we haven't run out of money, but where he has been weak is in putting in place conuter-measures to the EU slowdown - personally I wouldn't bet the economy on house prices, but… -

There has been a long period of increasing wealth. That is now not happening. A large chunk of he population is seeing a lifestyle *retreat*. The younger people I row with find going to the *pub* an expensive, planned outing. Not the casual, not-doing-anything-else thing. Eating out, similarly. They find that the housing… -

MY view, for what little it's worth, is ROSALLION looks the better option currently - the Hannon horses are running really well (I actually think HAATEM, the Craven winner, is the each way value at 20s) while the Ballydoyle horses have been slower to come to hand and it's only been 12 months since AUGUSTE RODIN was… -

IMV it's the better solution. Turkey has housed millions of Syrian refugees for well over a decade, and has allowed them certain rights. It has been hard on Turkey's economy. Going back to the Politico article yet again, Alberta points out that the boot is on the other foot this year. ...Generations of pollsters and journalists have fixated on the question of which candidate voters would rather have a beer with—a window into how personality translates into political success. Here’s the thing:… -

LOL about the sewage. There has presumably been a huge government incentive to let sleeping dogs lie over this (suddenly a less available option post-Grenfell) because of the huge upward pressure on demand for housing and for housing benefit if you move everybody to somewhere habitable, legal and non-overcrowded.
