Re: Wes Streeting and No Kings! – politicalbetting.com
Burnham’s flagship homelessness policy is Housing First: giving rough sleepers a permanent home immediately, with wraparound support, rather than making housing conditional on sobriety or other criteria. Since Greater Manchester’s pilot launched in 2019, more than 450 people have been housed, with an 88% tenancy… -

For once, Hammond is right. One of the major things that has undermined democracy has been taking powers out of the hands of Ministers and passing them to unelected bodies. We keep being told that these things need to be 'independent' of the Government. Er - why? We can vote out a Government if we don't like their… -

I often wonder if the same Centrists Dads would be getting it totally wrong that first couple of years when David Cameron became Conservative leader and he was pictured with the huskies.. Look how many of them totally underestimated his then wing man who over saw his leadership campaign up against the then nailed on… -

That's a significant part of the Iranian populace written off, then. I suspect this is not an isolated position: An Iranian man left this comment on my YouTube channel. This is without a doubt the single best explanation of the reality facing Iranian people today👇 "As an Iranian, I can tell you the situation is no longer… -

How do you work that out? The UC standard allowance is £94.59 pw. If you are on the minimum wage of £8.72 per hour and working 40 hours per week you have been earning (to nearest £) £307 after tax & NI. If you're furloughed on 2/3rd of that you'd get £233 pw (£227 after NI). You're allowed to ignore for UC assessment… -

The "Find Out" phase is accelerating... @RepGolden I’ve been getting a lot of calls over the past few days, and the interesting thing is none of them are about Donald Trump. They’re all about Elon Musk. My constituents, and a majority of this country, put Trump in the White House, not this unelected, weirdo billionaire. -

A bit late, because I'm catching up (been working all day), but I do get annoyed at the charge of "NIMBY" being levelled at some of us. From HYUFD's post this morning: Stepping past the cherrypicking of an individual councillor (because you can find examples in every party), let's take a look. First, the entire… -

SeanT- Hillary will win, as Nixon did in 1968, after failing 8 years earlier, she is by far and away the most experienced and competent in either party and she trounces her Democratic primary opponents and all GOP general election rivals in the polls. The move of the ONS to Newport has indeed been an exercise in how to do relocation badly. Also it is a shithole, so no chance getting people to trade the above for a nice place to live and a bigger house (which actually removes some of the need for career progression) I was once involved with a move from London to Coventry… -
