The tories held it because no party actually bothered to campaign here, I live in exmouth....no canvassers at all knocked on my door didnt even get a leaflet from anyone till a few days before polling days. I guess both labour and lib dems considered exmouth hopeless therefore -

Um - the inside lane was the lane still moving, and FeersumEnjineeya was correct - they were refusing to merge in turn. In effect, they were making it so that only one lane was moving and the other was stuck, so the other lane wasn't usable. -

The mast light is still there at the end of that clip although you can see the yacht heeling over earlier. Did they have their anchor on the wrong side? I'm not convinced by this "waterspout" theory though. It is possible but it is much more likely to have been a downburst, a related but different phenomenon. -

The thing is they were so discredited after the covid parties they were never going to appeal to a broad base anyway. So their irrational descent into pandering to the far right kind of makes sense because those people are solely concerned with their own irrational concerns. No one normal would have voted Tory anyway so…
