Re: The government sinks to a new low yet still leads the Tories who remain in third place
Well if you wanted to buy a pint in Southwold you are going thirsty. All pubs are Adnams and they won't take cash. 99% seems reasonable. We only pay cash for 2 things - my haircut and dog grooming. So easily hundreds of payments electronically for each cash payment. And you have to wonder why those two don't allow… -

Re: The great switch off – politicalbetting.com
We need our small start ups to be developed long term to become global leaders in their fields. I like the idea of pension funds being able to be long term investors in those types of companies. I appreciate that that may not be how the detailed policy turns out, but I am going to give it a chance until I've seen more… -

Re: Is Nigel Farage right? – politicalbetting.com
If he were being purely tactical, rather than ideological, then the arrival of Trump/Musk combined with the ongoing detoxification efforts of Le Pen and Meloni give him a once in a lifetime opportunity to reinvent himself as the cuddly moderate version of right wing populism and eat up the Tories simply by staying still… -

Someone on the previous thread made the jibe that the average farming income is £22k. They did not mention that that is for a 70 hour week with NO paid holidays - you have to pay someone to cover if you go away. By the standards of being on call as per Local Goverment it is a 168 hours on call business. Even when I was in… -

You are mistaken. If you had said invest in Crypto I probably would have scoffed - and now would be tucking into humble pie. I wouldn't have said not to invest in tech then - and I wouldn't say not to now, but with the massive caveat that it would just be part of a portfolio of shares, and I'd be happy to be a little… -

Syed might have made a more interesting case that Europe has been freeloading on American research and development. Defence is cliched, especially since he ignores both the special sensitivities around Germany, and proposals for an EU army. Even at home, Britain has decimated its armed forces, used creative accounting to… -

I would have voted, with reservations, in favour at second reading, in the hope that its faults could have been rectified in committee. That seems highly unlikely now and I'd be voting against at Report and Third Reading. Not that my opinion matters - but those of MPs who felt similarly at Second Reading does. And given… -
