Re: By wins for LAB in the byelections – politicalbetting.com
Yet another Voice of Reason from & for today's GOP NYT live blog - Speaking to reporters on Friday after a campaign event in South Carolina, Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida accused House Republicans of engaging in “palace intrigue” instead of “delivering results.” “Look, I think it’s unfortunate that these guys can’t get… -
Re: politicalbetting.com » Blog Archive » A Labour view as the campaign draws to a close
Subject to the outcome proving me silly I think that ultimately this election has always been the Brexit election. That the campaign has barely mentioned it is irrelevant. A materially signifant proportion of the electorate decided on day 1 that the route to Brexit lay through voting Conservative and giving May a… -

Eight years ago in a respectable street in Wolverhampton a house was sold to a Negro. Now only one white (a woman old-age pensioner) lives there. This is her story. She lost her husband and both her sons in the war. So she turned her seven-roomed house, her only asset, into a boarding house. She worked hard and did well,… -
Re: Angela Rayner is in touch with the public (sadly they are both wrong) – politicalbetting.com
In our first house after we were married we discovered a room with carpets and lights above the bathroom. I think it had once been a part of a back stair when the house was complete for the staff to store things in. It was about 15 feet x 10 feet, a reasonably sized room. Access was a little limited but it was an… -
Re: politicalbetting.com » Blog Archive » Local By-Election Preview : May 26th 2016
Just saw a programme on channel 5: How to get a council house. The sense of entitlement from one family of Romanians coming here expected to be housed before they have even paid a penny into the system makes my blood boil. I am fuming, absolutley fuming, how can a man come here with his wife and SIX fucking children and… -

I think we should make it easier for people to move to where the jobs are, and have a managed process of returning areas of surplus housing to nature/farmland. The big stumbling block for people moving to where the jobs are is housing and in particular the shortage of council housing means it is very hard/risky for council… -

Re: politicalbetting.com » Blog Archive » Footing the bill. The challenges for freespending politicians
On both they are making the right moves However onHB I think you can get even better rents. Moreover the issue is that a lot of the money goes on inferior housing stock that has been bought at excessively high prices. Those landlords have nowhere to go. On pension fund money this is complementary to local authorities.… -

Re: Betting on a LAB majority reaches a new high – politicalbetting.com
I am loyal to Sunak but there is no doubt this government has been much too high spend and high tax than she would ultimately have liked. Even Sunak has increased corporation tax again. Of course in the late 1970s most commentators believed Thatcher herself was a 'rightwing loon' unelectable against the more centrist… -
Re: The Small Print – politicalbetting.com
Interesting article. Betfair's terms were actually fine. Markets should have been settled once safe harbour was reached though. Except Wisconsin and anything still related to it, there was still litigation going on there that could have potentially vitiated/overturned the result. What was bizarre is that the popular vote… -
Re: London Rising – The Pentagon and the Election – politicalbetting.com
Time for a reminder of the mountain that the new Government has to climb to fulfil its house building targets. It's not just determined Nimby resistance and the question marks over the capacity of the construction industry to deliver. It's also the terrible game of financial Russian roulette that buyers of new builds have… -
