No I've not. Closing the deficit is about paying off the current expenditure (credit card). Its not paying off the mortage. That you can't tell the difference between short-term unaffordable debts like credit card/payday loans/deficit and long-term structural ones like mortgages/student loans/national debt says more about… -

Yes, I had exactly that experience and resolved never to eat lamb again. Awkwardly, in my current job we advise that it's often more humane to eat lamb and beef than chicken, because they on many farms they live reasonable lives outdoors and chickens generally have pretty hellish lives. Just eating less of meat generally… -

Greta's off Nippy's Christmas card list: Campaigner Greta Thunberg says she doesn't regard Scotland as a world leader on climate change...... On the Scottish Greens' deal to enter government, she said some politicians were "less worse" than others. But she said tackling climate change was not as easy as voting for a green… -

Continued: From previous conversations, I believe you are very keen on rights for women, e.g. wrt employment. My own view is that breaking down the traditional roles of 'man' and 'woman'; 'mother' and 'father' is the best way of reducing many of the inequalities that bedevil both women and men. In addition, I don't see… -

Only because the SDP refused to do a deal with the Linke in 2005 and 2013 which with the Greens would have had a majority. The CDU/CSU and AfD and FDP would have had a majority in 2017 but Merkel refused to deal with the AfD. Given it is unlikely the CDU/CSU and FDP will ever have a majority again as they did in 2009, or… -

Graham is definitely not Team Starmer's preferred candidate because she isn't an avowed centrist. But as you say if she largely removes Unite from the internal politics of the Labour Party and instead focuses on the interests of Unite members, they will be delighted. We absolutely need trade unions. But the sooner Labour… -

So "the west", aka the US and its satellites, offer "teachings" now? Why did the Tory government under Thatcher oppose equality for gays? Given that several generations haven't passed since that time, it will be good for your thesis if the Tories' "reasoning" - which they have now binned - was founded on something other… -

HS2 isn't just about freight capacity; it's about passenger capacity as well. Looking at just one and not the other as well rather distorts the view ... As for demand: one problem is that there are few paths. Passenger trains pay well for those paths (especially as they cost less as freight trains pay more as they are…
