Re: politicalbetting.com » Blog Archive » So what happened to the long-term plan, George?
I've only just caught up with what's been happening due to house move and heavy teaching load and BT being a bunch of incompetent failures. But I can't quite believe what's happening either. Osborne should be booking the removers for No. 11 this week, if even half of what's being said is true Grant Shapps should be… -

The theme of this conference was supposed to be opportunity. A pretty vacuous word at best but what has any minister said that is relevant to it? Where are the announcements of the extension of homework clubs, pupil premiums and incentivisation of teachers to go to "difficult" schools, what has been said (other than by… -

@Chrius123 'I wouldn't call it a gaffe. I'd call it a smart move. Firstly, I think it makes Ed stand out from the crowd. To the ordinary voter, it distinguishes him from the other opportunists who live by the precept: "What do I care about the rubbish I talked yesterday to get elected?" It brings the issue into focus.… -

Re: Latest Savanta/ComRes lockdown tracker finds declining levels of compliance particularly amongst the
To be honest it hasn’t bothered me that much. I worked from home anyway, and had spent the best part of a decade single & feeling quite lonely. Three years ago I met my girlfriend and we moved in together in a fairly big house, had a son, then lockdown began. So I’ve been indoors with them but more fulfilled than ever… -

Well actually, it's not flippant. This government is increasingly prone to making announcements via its favoured outlets, particularly the Telegraph. It has also been pulled up by the Speaker on more than one occasion for making policy announcements public before they have been made in their rightful place, the House of… -

Not necessarily. I suspect many just "want it to stop" and having JRM slag off anything that's agree may persuade some that its not so bad after all. Similarly when, curiously enough, life carries on after March 29 and the more apocalyptic predictions prove (once again) to have been unfounded (empty supermarkets, no planes… -
Re: politicalbetting.com » Blog Archive » Nick Palmer: Why Angela Merkel is going to remain as German
Because George Osborne has been House Trained by the Treasury, perhaps. An alternative view is that he is so desperate for income in the short term and his hands have been so tied by his boss's spending promises that he will consign any and every industry to the scrap heap as long as he can screw the maximum amount of… -

Women are already being harrassed. It is part of almost every woman's daily life. "A poll, commissioned by housing charity Shelter, has revealed that over 250,000 women have been asked to trade sexual favours in return for free, or discounted, accommodation in the past five years, reports The Times. An estimated 140,000 of… -

FPT: How it is done elsewhere: https://easymilano.com/when-can-we-switch-on-the-heating-in-italy/ Given a sizeable number of people live in communal apartments, this is a pretty broad regulation defining the date central heating can be switched on, how many hours a day it can run and what it can be set to. It is split by… -

The Immigration Act 2016 was avowedly and expressly designed to create a hostile environment for illegal immigrants. Re: politicalbetting.com » Blog Archive » Tomorrow night is Nigel Farage’s big opportunity
Evening all, I find the suggestion that people who vote a particular way have a higher or lower IQ deeply offensive. Arguably the single biggest failure of the political class over the past 25 years has been its obsession with university education at the expense of further education. We are now producing roughly 300,000… -

David Blunket, writing in the Mail, castigates Labour for avoiding discussion on immigration and its effects on the people of the UK. "As a result of a substantial recent influx of incomers from Eastern Europe, there has been a host of difficulties, such as a lack of interpretation services, exploitation of migrants by…
