Re: The next Tory poll lead – politicalbetting.com
The posters on PB aren't representative at all TBH they aren't representative of tribal Tory voters and think politics is just a silly decorum game rather than about policy substance. You provide very interesting analysis on Lab, LD and Con fortunes and it is still far more moored in reality than the majority of posters.… -

Re: The rail strike could help the Tories retain Tiverton & Honiton – politicalbetting.com
I get the firm impression that the Conservatives are in the same electoral denial as the Lib Dems were between 2010 -15 and hence are unable to face the perilous position they are in, despite being told and told again by those who have only their best interests in mind. They simply have to get rid of Johnson. There is no… -
Re: 2 weeks to go till the by-elections and more want BoJo OUT – politicalbetting.com
I'm not a Leaver. But Brexit was an identity vote, so rehashing all the same arguments about the economic impacts are a denial of reality. People aren't going to suddenly change their view on their identity because of a little economic difficulty. We have to deal with the situation we find ourselves in, not the situation… -

Re: Penny Mordaunt: Now 2nd favourite for the CON leadership – politicalbetting.com
Only listened in the car, but thought Starmer was underwhelming after being given such a wonderful opening with the VONC and 3/4 of backbenchers voting for Boris to go. Crossed my mind that he was thinking "I'm going to get a ticket from Durham police and will have to walk the plank, whilst the POS PM is going to carry on… -
Re: Johnson holds on with 58.7% of the vote – politicalbetting.com
https://www.instituteforgovernment.org.uk/explainers/elections IFG opinion that perhaps there is nothing HMQ can do to prevent an "abusive dissolution". So parliament, 1922 and so forth need to be ready so that no Boris benefit could accrue to such a dissolution. Could a house VONC and immediate unity candidate pre-empt… -
Re: The Wednesday afternoon open thread – politicalbetting.com
Pretty much as I said. The histrionics that a Parliament has shown about small breaks with things to do with Northern Ireland show that its utterly improbable the Commons and Lords would allow us to unilaterally abrogate the entire Treaty throwing us into an immediate No Deal scenario. If the only way out of a situation is… -
