Even at commercial pace you could build a serious LNG tanker fleet in a couple of years. Likewise the ports and regas feeds into the networks. Unless the European plan is to build their own Starship sized space launch system and launch Space Based Solar arrays. That could take 10 years…. For those who don’t know, ESA is… -

Re: Why the Alternative Vote system is proving awesome once more – politicalbetting.com
I’ve a vaguely deistic view of the universe. Like 12 steppers, I find it helpful to have some conception of a higher power and kinda imagined it to be the cause of the Big Bang, setting it off like one would light a match and watch the smoke particles but taking no active role save to observe thereafter. I’m going to be… -

Immigration policy aside I think it's unlikely we'll do much of significance that we couldn't have done as an EU member. The fuss made over "trade deals" with the back of beyond is designed to obscure this but in fact goes to illustrate it. If we want Brexit to have a point we probably should be embracing some radicalism… -

I am familiar with that argument, and I understand why you feel that way. I don't have any objection to Russia's military defeat (though I don't desire its collapse) but what I see at the moment is two fairly balanced sides ripping chunks out of each other, at an astronomical cost to all concerned. I think if this were the… -

(Afternoon all) So called 'Positive discrimination' is discrimination, and is a terrible, terrible idea. At the time Lab went with All Women Shortlists the practice was declared unlawful in an Industrial Tribunal. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/labour-blow-as-allwomen-lists-outlawed-1323046.html Rather than respecting… -

++++++ I've been reading the Fortean Times for 30 years and indeed, as an esoteric flint knapper, I have actually written for them multiple times. I know the editor, subs, writers, etc If they are dismissing this latest UAP flap then they are simply wrong. This is several orders of magnitude bigger than anything we have…
