Re: politicalbetting.com » Blog Archive » Labour’s Oldies’ headache: Turnout levels reverting to GE2015
Only to the believers that pray to the god of GDP. We have experienced the consequences of Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya. Crimes that people experience and may not be reported in the stats is trough the roof. The police can not be bothered to investigate. London seems to be a war zone, stabbings, acid and moped crimes, let… -
Re: politicalbetting.com » Blog Archive » Flooding the Lords with 100s of new peers so several millio
Today, of course, the House of Lords gets to decide whether George Osborne’s controversial tax credits curtailment plan will go forward for now. If the Lords do block this then Osborne should bring the measure back in the Budget. I don't buy that the public doesn't support the measure. Most will have no idea of the details… -
Re: Starmer is the most popular politician in Britain – politicalbetting.com
Voted Lib Dems in the locals. The only ones who leafleted were Lib Dem and Tory and both candidates seemed like decent people. Met and been canvassed by both in the past 12 months which has never happened before either, if it wasn't for party I'd happily vote for either on an individual basis. Not heard diddly squat from… -
Re: The Liz Truss legacy in one chart – politicalbetting.com
On topic: You'd want to dig into this a lot further. One thing to take account of is that the number of people with mortgages has been squeezed under the Conservatives, with more renters and outright owners than before. I would guess that changes in housing tenure by constituency will be a stronger predictor of swing than… -
Re: Xi Whizz, where did my century go? – politicalbetting.com
Britain: The House of Commons and our long history of democracy. That is our stability and it trumps China by miles. Putting "stability" in any one individual is a recipe for disaster, as that individual rapidly becomes out of touch/corrupt/incompetent as time goes on. Our stability is our ability to evolve and have a… -
Re: The LDs now clear betting favourite to gain North Shropshire – politicalbetting.com
It changed a bit since then. Muller is still a big employer, farming is still significant, but also a lot of new build housing has gone up in last 10 years and which acts as a bit of a commutor town for Telford. The town centre has been particularly badly effected by the move to online, it is a bit of a disaster these days… -
Re: The poll finding that should rattle Downing Street – politicalbetting.com
He has been found out. In hindsight it was inevitable. As a Prime Minister you have nowhere to hide and for someone who has employed this tactic since he first became an MP he's finding it impossible to cope. Put your house on him not being PM a day after the next election. The sigh of relief will only be matched by 1997… -
Re: Geography today – politicalbetting.com
Free article from the Atlantic. Over the past several months I asked U.S. allies whether they think President Trump is a reliable ally. They said no, but with an essential caveat. The career U.S. government officials who actually run the FBI, the intelligence agencies, and the Pentagon day-to-day have long been trusted… -

Re: politicalbetting.com » Blog Archive » Swinson’s Choice
If someone were able to put together a graph that combined universal credit, housing/council tax benefit, income tax, NI, child benefit withdrawal, the pensions taper, and withdrawal of the personal allowance (Edit: and student debt repayments) into one chart then it would show the absolute horlicks that has been made of… -
Re: BBC Sports Personality of the Year – Doubting Dina Asher Smith – politicalbetting.com
On 'levelling up', the term is of course merely a political slogan, one which is impossible to disagree with as a concept since in implies making X better off in some way without making Y poorer in some way. And as a generality that is not impossible, as levelling up has been occurring for centuries. It is what the Labour… -
Re: politicalbetting.com » Blog Archive » Opinium poll that “slipped out” has CON ahead with the LDs
Quite a lot has happened in Rochester since the last poll, we've had the debates which quite a few people might have seen. Also the Conservatives comments about house prices, the fuss about TTIP and the straight choice leaflet may not have gone down well. If there has been a late swing to UKIP then Ashcroft and Survation's… -
Re: A real boost for Trump – politicalbetting.com
Sorry I thought you were arguing it should be 20. That used to be 30 (below), and the limit has been dropped to 20 and moved a little further out of the village to be beyond the entrance to a housing estate which looks like it is due for a lot more expansion. We can agree that 20 is preposterous outside estates can we not… -

AP (via Seattle Times) - *US Supreme Court rejects challenge to new horse racing anti-doping rules The Supreme Court on Monday rejected a challenge from Republican-controlled states to a horse racing safety law that has led to national medication and anti-doping rules. Should I apply for a full time job at a Special Intervention Unit at a Special School? The job I've been doing since September? My job has been advertised at £20k pro rata. 38 weeks a year, 37 hours a week. £300 a week after tax. Priorities. Ha ha I'm great at it and love it but I can't. Liberal elite, me. Maybe I could… -

They recently released Claude Code. You install it into your terminal and any application that can access the terminal can be injected with Claude Code, in addition they have ability to hook up to external APIs for things like help desk tickets, documentation etc. The idea is you tell it there is a particular task you want… -
Re: Johnson rated as a just 3.4% chance to be election leader – politicalbetting.com
I beg to differ. Boris knew exactly what he wanted to do. Sit in the big chair, live in the big house, be famous and hand out just enough baubles to keep the Stooges loyal. The essence of Borisism has always been "you can't tell me what to do, unlike those beaks at Eton." Hence everything he has ever done. Oh, you ment… -

Fpt Bloody hell, I know 24/7 royal PR is SOP for the Beeb, but it’s in fawning overdrive today. The doctors are looking after Chuck’s physical health but it’s his sense of duty that is keeping his mind and spirit in fine fettle apparently. It seems that we need to know this at the top of every news bulletin, on the hour.… -
