The idea that its a simple curve is certainly discredited. The idea, however, that you may increase tax take by lowering tax rates or vice versa is still valid as humans very much do change behaviour… (View Post)1 -

Well quite. I'd have a flat tax of 20%. No higher rates, no reliefs. No schemes for hiding income in trusts. Just 20% on all income. (View Post)1 -

Its unlikely to have one peak - far more likely to a complex curve with potentially lots of peaks and troughs. And many other factors will affect it too (so multi dimensional). (View Post)4 -

That's been true forever. Back in the eighties when I first used to go running in my local village I ran in the road rather than the rubbish pavement. Its also true now when pushing pushchairs etc. (View Post)1
