To me, historical drama is partly about immersion. Having characters in there who have been race-swapped is jarring, and breaks the immersion. It’s not a slight on the actors themselves or their race… (View Post)1 -

Yes, often it’s the disconnect which is jarring. Particularly when writers and researchers fall over themselves trying to make sets and costumes etc as accurate and realistic as possible. (View Post)1
